About this file

The document is a Fire Protection System Protocol for Capital Planning Projects developed by the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), detailing comprehensive procedures for Fire Alarm Company technicians performing various technical tasks within the facility. The protocol outlines specific step-by-step procedures for four primary activities: system installation, program downloading, pretesting, and final testing with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Each procedure requires prior approval from the OCCC Project Management Team, mandates at least two technicians be present, involves coordination with OCCC Capital Planning and Security/Life Safety teams, and necessitates detailed documentation through a debrief report that confirms system status before and after work completion.

While the document does not provide specific pricing or funding details, it establishes a rigorous operational framework for Fire Alarm Company technicians working on capital planning projects at the Orange County Convention Center. The protocol emphasizes safety, systematic documentation, and precise communication protocols, requiring technicians to check in with prime contract holders, notify OCCC Capital Planning and Security before work begins, manage system test modes, document all system changes, and ensure the fire protection system remains stable throughout interventions. The document is version 1, dated 8/19/2024, and appears to be a standardized procedure to maintain consistent technical and safety standards during fire protection system modifications and testing.
