ATTACHMENT-20 -EXISTING EQUIPMENT INFORMATION
I. (MFL WFO):
Information and site conditions of the HVAC Systems installed at Miami Weather and Forecast Office & National Hurricane Center, 11691 SW 17th ST, Miami FL 33165-2149
1. HVAC #1 & #2, for a total of two Trane split systems (CU/AHU#1 & CU/AHU#2):
1.1. Brief description: These are the Air Conditioning units servicing operation areas of this facility (NWS OPS, NHC OPS, TAFB, NSU), they are designed to back each other up, connected in parallel to the same HVAC ductwork system and to always work one at the time, running both units at the same time will cause damages to the HVAC duct system. One of the two units shall be operational at all times, failure or disabling both units at the same time will interrupt the mission of that installation and could cause damages to some of the equipment installed at that facility. One of the two units could be disabled for a short period of time if coordinated and approved by the COR, in writing and one week in advanced, and if the second unit remains fully operational during the time the backup unit is disabled.
1.2. Information about the existing AHUs #1 & #2:
1.2.1. These are the original AHUs installed when the building was built in 1995. Coils and blower wheel assembly were replaced in 2016.

2. HVAC #3, for a total of one Trane Split systems (CU/AHU#3):
2.1. Brief description: These are the Air Conditioning units servicing the rooms that are not directly related to the operations of this facility, but that support it in different ways. This includes but is not limited to admin areas, staff offices, library, shops, electrical rooms, storage rooms, conference rooms, etc. Unit shall remain operational at all times. The unit could be disabled for a short period of time if coordinated and approved by the COR in writing and one week in advanced.
2.2. Information about existing AHU #3:
2.2.1. This is the original AHU installed when the building was built in 1995. Coils and blower wheel assembly were replaced in 2016.

3. Information about existing Bathroom EFs:
3.1. Brief description: There are two EFs at MFL, one for the restrooms on the west side of the building, and one for the restrooms on the east side of the building. EFs are installed on the roof level and were replaced in 2019. The fans are designed to constantly run unless they are shut down by the fire alarm system via a fire alarm relay installed above the ceiling.

4. Information about existing VAVs and FTUs:
4.1. There are 25 VAVs and 24 FTUs
4.2. All FTUs have Electric Heaters and none of the VAVs have heaters.
4.3. Exiting VAVs were replaced in 2018
4.4. Exiting FTUs were replaced in 2020

5. Information about existing Lieberts # 1, 2 & 3:
5.1. Brief description: These units are servicing the computer server room of this facility. They are designed to run two at the time with the third unit as a backup (Lead-Lead-Lag). All units shall remain operational at all times, failure or disabling any unit could interrupt the operations of this facility, cause the loss of data and damages to the servers and other equipment installed in the room. One of the three units can be disabled for a short period of time if coordinated and approved by the COR, in writing and one week in advanced, and if the other two units remain fully functional during the time period the third unit is disabled. All three units were replaced in 2017.
5.2. All units were replaced in 2017
5.3. Location: Server room on ground level.
5.4. Qty of filters per AHU, size and type: High Capacity Pleated Air Filter, MERV-8, 4 filters per AHU: 4 x (24 x 25 x 4).

6. Building Automation System (BAS):
6.1. Brief description: Exiting BAS is an Automated Logic Controller. The entire system was replaced in 2019.

II. (MFL RDA): Information and site conditions of the HVAC Systems installed at the Miami Weather Service Radar (WSR) (16801 SW 137 AVE, Miami, FL 33177) (16801 SW 137 AVE, Miami, FL 33177)
1. Brief description: The Weather Service Radar (WSR) site at Miami Florida is currently served by three wall mounted package Air Conditioning Units, two 6 tons units on the Radar Data Acquisition (RDA) shelter (Model#: Bard W72AB-B00BPXX5J) and one 2 tons unit on the TPMS shelter (Model#: Marvair- AVPA24ACA050C7U-A5-100-VAR). All units were replaced in 2018.
2. Information about the HVAC equipment servicing the Radar Data Acquisition (RDA) shelter
2.1. The shelter is served by two, 6 tons, wall mounted package Air Conditioning Units

2.3. Filter: MERV-8 Pleated, 20x30x2

III. (KEY RDA): Information and site conditions of the HVAC Systems installed at the Boca Chica Weather Service Radar (WSR) (A1027 Hawk Missile Road, Boca Chica NAS 33040)
1. Brief description: The Weather Service Radar (WSR) site at Boca Chica is currently served by three wall mounted package Air Conditioning Units, two 6 tons units on the Radar Data Acquisition (RDA) shelter (Model#: Bard W72AA-B0ZBPXX3J) and one 2 tons unit on the TPMS shelter (Model#: Marvair- AVPA24ACA050C7U-A5-100-VAR). Units have been replaced in 2018.

3. Information about the HVAC equipment servicing the TPMS shelter
3.1. The shelter is served by a 2 tons, wall mounted package Air Conditioning Units

3.3. Filter: MERV-8 Pleated, 16x20x2
3.4. The unit have a factory coated condenser and evaporator coils with a surface protection treatment.

IV. (KEY WFO): Information and site conditions of the HVAC systems installed at the Florida Keys Weather and Forecast Office (1315 White Street, Key West FL 330)
1. HVAC # 2A, 2B & 2C, for a total of three Trane Split systems (CU/AHU#2A, CU/AHU#2B & CU/AHU#2C)
1.1. Brief description: These are the AC units servicing the operation areas of this facility (NWS OPS). They are designed to work all in parallel at the same time if needed, depending on the CFM demanded by the VAV boxes. They are all connected to the same supply and return duct and are isolated by supply and return dampers when the unit is commanded off by the BMS system. There is not a backup maintenance AC unit for this system, they are all needed for proper cooling of the areas served.
These AC units shall be operational at all times, failure or disabling any of these units could interrupt the operations of this facility. One of the units can be disabled for a short period of time if coordinated and approved by the COR, in writing and one week in advanced, and if the other two units remain fully operational during the time the third unit is disabled.
CUs #2A, 2B & 2C have been coated with a surface protection treatment, coating cannot be damaged during coil cleaning, Contractor shall follow manufacturer’s writing instructions to clean the coils without causing damages to the coating or the coils. Contractor shall always clean the floor drain piping with a plumbing snake and water every time they clean the coils.
Condensing Units are located in the mechanical yard, on the mezzanine level, on the second floor of the building. The mechanical yard is a fully covered space, with some louvered walls and 4 fans to provide forced ventilation to the space. Fans are called by the BAS as needed for a proper ventilation of the mechanical yard. The mechanical yard also has a metal grate to completely cover the ceiling of the room. The replacement of the CUs and AHUs is only possible by removing the welded ceiling metal grates, and by using a crane to lift them off thru the ceiling of the mechanical yard. They will not fit thru the stairs.

2.1. Brief description: This AC unit serves rooms that are not directly related to the operations of this facility, but that support it in different ways. The coils, fins and other elements of the CU have been factory coated with a surface protection treatment. Coating, coils, fins and other elements of the CU cannot be damaged, Contractor shall follow manufacturer’s writing instructions when executing the tasks described under this contract.

3.1. Brief description: There are two EFs at KEY WFO, one for the restrooms and one for the Helium storage. These are the original EFs installed when the facility was built in 2005
4. Information about the existing PF-1, PF-2, PF-3 & PF-4 servicing the Mechanical yard supply fans, total of 4
4.1. Brief description: There are 4 Supply Fans at KEY WFO, they are installed on the wall of the mechanical yard to provided forced ventilation to aid with the cooling of the CUs installed in this area. Fans are called by the BAS as needed for a proper ventilation of the mechanical yard.
5. Information about existing VAVs
5.1. There are 13 VAVs
5.2. All VAVs have Electric Heaters
5.3. These are the original VAVs installed when facility was built in 2005

6. Information about the existing Lieberts # 1 & 2 (PACs #1 & 2):
6.1. Brief description: These units serve the computer server room of this facility. They are both running simultaneously, but are designed so that one unit can service the entire room while the second unit is temporarily disabled for maintenance. Both units must always be operational, failure or disabling both units at the same time will interrupt operations and will cause damages to the equipment in the server room. One of the two units can be disabled for a short period of time if coordinated and approved by the COR, in writing and one week in advanced, and if the second unit remains fully operational during the time the unit is disabled. The outside condensing unit was replaced in 2020 but inside unit is the original installed when facility was built in 2005.
The Lieber’s CUs have been factory coated with a surface protection treatment, coating cannot be damaged during coil cleaning, Contractor shall follow manufacturer’s writing instructions to clean the coils without causing damages to the coating or the coils. Condensate water is drained to the floor drains under the raised floor, Contractor must always clean the floor drain piping with a plumbing snake and water every time they clean the AC condensate drainage piping.
6.2. Information about existing Lieberts inside units #1 & 2 (Total of 2 units):
6.2.1. These are the original units installed when building was built in 2005
6.2.2. Location: Server room on ground level.
