About this file

This Bid Clarification No. 5 document, issued by Rockford Construction as Construction Manager for Northview Public Schools in Grand Rapids, Michigan, addresses updates and clarifications for the NVPS Athletics Stadium Addition and Renovation project located at 4451 Hunsberger Avenue NE. The project scope encompasses selective demolition, cast-in-place concrete, masonry, structural steel and miscellaneous metals, general trades (rough carpentry, doors, hardware, athletic equipment, roofing, flooring, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work), civil work, asphalt paving, landscape and irrigation, synthetic turf installation, and all-weather track surfacing. The clarification updates the bid due date to November 10, 2026 at 1:00 PM EST, with a public bid opening scheduled for the same date and time at 4365 Hunsberger Avenue NE. Addendum No. 2, released with this clarification, introduces a Metal Band Tower (Directors Tower Dual Platform with Spiral Staircase by Melhart Manufacturing) to the General Trades scope, featuring two viewing platforms at 10 feet and 20 feet above grade with music desks and expanded metal decking. A pre-bid walkthrough was held on October 6, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the project site, with post-bid interviews scheduled between November 11 and November 25, 2026 via Zoom. The anticipated contract award date is December 15, 2026, with anticipated substantial completion in Fall 2027.

All bids must be submitted via Procore Bidding and accompanied by bid security equal to five percent of the base bid in the form of a bid bond or certified check payable to Northview Public Schools. Bidders must provide separate pricing for Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds covering 100 percent of the contract value, which should not be included in the base bid. This project does not require prevailing wages and is subject to applicable Michigan use and sales tax. All bids must include sworn statements regarding familial relationships with school board members, Iran Economic Sanctions Act Certification, Criminal Background Affidavit, Non-Collusive Affidavit, Legal Status of Bidder Affidavit, and an Equal Opportunity Form. Change order fees are established at ten percent for labor costs, ten percent for material and equipment, and five percent for trade contractor quotes, with full cost savings credited to the owner if work is deleted. Bid RFIs addressed matters including turf specifications and shock pad requirements, fence grounding clarification (which is not required), netting salvage procedures, and testing responsibilities, with responses indicating the turf company bears responsibility for Gmax and HIC testing and the owner responsible for any subsequent warranty-period testing.

Question Question from Morgan Gross Rockford Construction on Monday, Oct 19, 2026 at 03:38 PM EDT The Following questions have been presented by an interested Bidder Prior to the RFI due date.

1. Bullpen Turf Alternate Assembly - The bullpen alternate shows 6 inches of aggregate while Section 32 1123 requires an 8-inch minimum full profile. Confirm the required base thickness, turf product/pile height, infill and pad requirements for both double bullpens, including mound transition limits. Confirm earthwork and concrete adjustments remain with their respective trades and are coordinated with this alternate.

2. Shock Pad at Stadium South D-Zone and Band Field - LD1.01 detail 15 labels the south D-zone pad optional while #32D includes a stadium pad. Confirm that the pad is included throughout the south D-zone. Auxiliary-only pad notes at the auxiliary/band details otherwise indicate no band-field pad; confirm this interpretation.

3. Field Markings for Flag Football - The flag-football entry is blank. Confirm whether flag-football markings are required; if so, issue colors, widths, dimensions and applicable fields. Confirm the issued graphics sheets define the base bid markings and provide editable logo/lettering artwork before shop drawing preparation.

4. Testing Scope, Payer and Minimum…
