Mission Critical Material Process Instructions
Rev 5 Dated 19 Sep 2017
1. Background: Cost cutting measures have been implemented resulting in service level reductions.
This process is in place to ensure Mission Critical Work is accomplished in a timely manner. If Material Management service level agreement performance time is not sufficient to support mission requirements, expedited service may be requested through submission of a "Mission Critical Justification" reference email dated 2/23.
2. Mission Critical requests will be monitored on a regular basis to evaluate the impact on routine service requests.
3. The electronic form will be used exclusively to shorten the process and reduce data transfer and administrative tracking. The form can be printed as a backup if necessary.
(1) Enter “MISSION CRITICAL” in the email Subject line to alert NAVSEALOGCEN.
(2) NWA is required to track who is the sponsor needing the service, not to charge funds.
(3) After completing the form, send via email to your Department Head assigned approver*.
4. Approval will be indicated (“Approved” in the email is sufficient along with the automatic digital email signature) in the email sent back to the requestor.
Submit electronic form to NAVSEALOGCEN via email with the approval included in the email to the address indicated on the form. Material to be shipped, delivered, or packaged along with required documentation will be sent to NAVSEALOGCEN.
*This form requires Department Head approval or can be delegated down to Branch Level. However, ensure the assigned person understands the effect on the service provider and possible impacts to Material Management cost. Ensure the appropriate people in the department are notified of who are your Mission Critical approvers. The department must manage their own delegation of authority, NAVSEALOGCEN will not verify if the proper authority approved the request.
*Refier to form NUWCDIVKPTINST 4600/01 (08-2019).
