About this file

This is a clarification note from the Illinois State Board of Elections regarding certification requirements for bidders and offerors responding to state and local contract opportunities. The document addresses Question 30 of the Illinois Standard Certification Form and specifies registration obligations for different entity types. Not-for-profit entities are exempt from Illinois State Board of Elections registration requirements, while all other bidders and offerors must register. Registration must be completed in the legal name of the business as defined by the entity's Secretary of State registration and can be completed online at no cost through the Illinois Board of Elections registration portal.

The note provides guidance to ensure bidders understand their compliance obligations prior to submitting proposals. Prospective offerors should verify their entity classification to determine whether registration is required and, if applicable, complete the online registration process using their official business name before responding to contract solicitations.
