Initial Task: Exhibition Web Design and Production

The National Library of Medicine requests a cost proposal for the design and production of one new exhibition website that adheres to the style guide for Template A or Template B, and one project that translates a legacy online exhibition (HTML) to Template A or Template B. The performance requirments outlined in the Performance-based Statement of Work apply.

Cost proposal must include line items for for anticipated Key Personnel labor catatories and any additional expenses. This is a firm fixed cost to perform the tasks.

Task

Purpose and Objectives

1. New exhibition website

The Exhibition Program at the National Library of Medicine requires the services of a web design and production firm to design and produce an online exhibition, including online educational resources, using TeamSite template—Template A or Template B—and pages for a Digital Gallery that is delivered using a dynamic database such as ColdFusion. Preparing associated cropped and sized images or graphics required for the “Orange” site is included in the scope of this task.

For the purposes of pricing, please consider the exhibition section to include 50 items; the education section will include 10 PDFs and 10 MS Word documents; and the digital gallery will have 50 items, one “map” activity with 10 items, and one “carousel” activity with 5 items. The Vendor will develop the web designs using elements created by the exhibition designer (color palette, logo, graphic identity, and other graphic elements). Please identify any other assumptions that inform the Vendor’s costs in the business proposal.

Please see Attachment A for the style guide for Template A and Template B. Please view one of the following online exhibitions to see a comparable, completed project:

Pictures of Nursing (Digital Gallery)
Confronting Violence (no Digital Gallery)
For All the People (no Digital Gallery)
Frankenstein: Penetrating the Secrets of Nature (Digital Gallery)

Please see how these online exhibitions are depicted on the larger “Orange” Exhibition Program website. Attachment B is the style guide for the “Orange” site.

For a typical content deliverable from the Exhibition Program to the Vendor for designing and producing an online exhibition, please see Attachments C1, C2, and C3 (includes typical deliverable for exhibition content and design elements, education content, and digital gallery content).

2. Migrating legacy exhibition website to Template A or Template B

The Exhibition Program at the National Library of Medicine requires the services of a web design and production firm to design and produce a Template version of an existing HTML online exhibition.

For this task, please see Attachment A for the style guide for Template A and Template B. Please see Attachment C1 and C2 for typical content deliverable for a legacy transfer project (no Digital Gallery content).
