About this file
This document is a Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) Purchase Description for a Fleece Aramid Facemask (CWU-110/P), detailing comprehensive technical specifications for a specialized protective facemask designed for cold weather operations. The facemask is available in two sizes (Medium-Large and XLarge) and two color classes (Green 3438 and Coyote Brown 3758), and is constructed from multiple specialized materials including knitted fleece, silk weight mesh, and flame-resistant stretch knitted velour.
The technical specifications outline precise requirements for materials, construction, dimensions, and manufacturing processes. Key features include a non-adjustable design covering the nose, mouth, and throat, with a pass-through slot for communication devices. The facemask must conform to specific material standards, including flame resistance and moisture management properties. Manufacturing requirements include detailed guidelines for cutting, assembling, stitching, and labeling, with strict quality control measures. The document provides comprehensive inspection criteria, dimensional tolerances, and defect classifications to ensure consistent product quality for military use as part of the Multi Climate Protection clothing system.
