About this file
This amendment modifies a solicitation for Very Low Frequency (VLF) Transducers in support of the Navy's Acoustic Augmentation Support Program (AASP). The amendment extends the proposal due date to June 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM EST. It also provides responses to nine questions from industry clarifying that the available government furnished property will be provided after award, production units are to be shipped to Seneca Lake, NY, no pressure sources or classified information are involved, and dimensions for the available inboard real-estate are provided. The solicitation seeks a single, firm-fixed price five-year contract for a manufacturer to produce, test, inspect, package and deliver VLF transducers meeting performance requirements specified in the Critical Item Performance Specification. The North American Industry Classification System code is 334511 and small businesses with 1,250 employees or fewer are eligible to compete.

The following have been added by full text:
GENERAL INFO: AMENDMENT 0001
AMENDMENT 0001
The purpose of Amendment 0001 is to:
1. Extend the proposal due date and time to Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 14:00pm EST.
2. Respond to questions from industry as follows:
QUESTION #1: What Government Furnished Property (GFP), referenced in Section 4.0, is available? What is required to request available GFP? (Section 4.0)
RESPONSE #1: The GFP that is available is 1. AASP Controller, 2. Motor Contactor, and 3. VLF Cable Set. The GFP is provided after contract award.
QUESTION #2: Can you please provide Attachment 2 – Government Furnished Property? (Section J).
RESPONSE #2: We do not provide GFP prior to award. GFP will be provided during testing to ensure units are compatible with Government systems.
QUESTION #3: Please confirm that production units are to be shipped to Seneca Lake, NY. (Section B, Item 0003)
RESPONSE #3: Confirmed. They shall be shipped to Seneca Lake, NY.
QUESTION #4: Can you please extend the proposal due date to July 1st?
RESPONSE #4: We will extend the proposal due date and time to Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 14:00pm EST.
QUESTION #5: The table shows the available conductors within the cable but not their use. Are the signals within the cable defined (and thus missing in table), or is it up to offeror to define? (CIPS, table 3-2).
RESPONSE #5: CIPS table 3-2 does not define the use of the signals within the cable. This can be defined by the designer if/as needed.
QUESTIONS #6: Refers to the “…the current inboard real-estate…” What volume is available to utilize in this inboard real estate? (CIPS, section 3.2.3.1)
RESPONSE #6: The inboard real-estate is a motor contactor that supplies the 440Vac power to external hull fitting and ultimately to the sea chest to power the VLF unit. The dimensions of the unit are: 9” x 13.5” x 5.75” (Length x Height x Depth).
QUESTION #7: Is there a pressure source for active depth compensation or does the unit need to have a self-contained solution?
N6660422R0149
RESPONSE #7: No pressure sources are available, the unit must be self-contained.
QUESTION #8: Can you please provide DD254 and SCG for this program?
RESPONSE #8: There is no DD254 or SCG for this requirement. This program does not involve classified material or information therefore we do not require a DD 254.
