QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q&A

1. Question #1: "Please confirm new pneumatic actuators are requested for the new water valves instead of electronic actuators."

Answer for Question #1: Yes, new actuators on the control valves will be pneumatic actuators.

2. Question #2: "Please confirm rigid conduit for control wiring in mechanical room."

Answer for Question #2: Rigid Metallic Conduit (RMC) is only required for power conductors to and from the Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) supplying power to the fan motors. The RMC must couple with the existing conduit feed currently routed from the Motor Control Center to the existing motor disconnect switch (to be removed and replaced by the VFD). An exception to this requirement is the final connection to the new motors; for final motor terminations, Flexible Metallic Conduit (FMC) or Liquidtight Flexible

Metallic Conduit (LFMC) is permitted provided the length of the conduit run does not extend more than 24 inches from the motor termination box. Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) shall be used in all other conductor runs (e.g., control wiring and 120 VAC conductor runs).
