About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) attachment for a federal contract opportunity for CompTIA SecurityX (CASP+) Certification and Refresher Course Training. The Q&A provides critical details about the training event, including that it will be held in Apra Heights, Room 109 from August 4-8, 2025, with space for 20 students. Key clarifications include: no exam vouchers are required, students will pay out of pocket for testing, and the training provider must bring workstations if a lab is needed since not all students are guaranteed their own laptop. The classroom will be equipped with a projector and Wi-Fi internet access, and the instructor is permitted to bring their own laptop. The previous similar training was delivered by Secure Ninja, and the training will be conducted as a lecture with potential online lab access for students to complete outside of class time.

The solicitation is a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 611420 with a small business size standard of $16.0M, issued by the Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command. The contract is for a firm-fixed price commercial service with a five-day performance period, targeting the Joint Region Marianas Command Information Office. Potential vendors should note the specific requirements around equipment, classroom setup, and the expectation of a cost-effective training delivery model that minimizes additional expenses like shipping equipment or providing exam vouchers.

Question: Clarify whether an exam voucher is requested as part of the solicitation requirement.

Answer: Voucher is not part of the request.

Question: Do you have the equipment on site or we should bring ours?

Answer: Site has projector and Starshield will be deployed for Internet access. Instructor may bring his/her own equipment such as laptop/workstation that he/she required to conduct the class.

If lab is required for class, then potential source should bring required equipment for all 20 students since it’s not guaranteed that all students will have a workstation.

Question: Do you have the facility to conduct the class?

Answer: Yes. We have booked B4179 (Apra Heights) R109 for week of August 4-8, 2025.

Question: Typically, we would recommend that the follow up review session be held a week or so after the training to give students an opportunity to review materials and identify areas that they need help with. Is this your expectation? Can this be done remotely?

Answer: Will this extra week cost more? If yes, then we will not need the extra follow-up review. If it will not cost more, then an option to have a follow-up review done remotely is acceptable.

Question: The class can be delivered lecture only during class time and student given access to online labs that they can complete outside of class with their own computers. This will save a great deal due to the cost of shipping 20 laptops to Guam. Is this acceptable?

Answer: No issues with this and it is acceptable.

Question: Can our instructor bring a laptop into the classroom?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Is there a projector in the classroom?

Answer: Classroom has projector and will have Internet access via Wi-Fi.

Question: Do you want CompTIA SecurityX exam vouchers to be included?

Answer: No vouchers required.

Question: You mention potentially needing machines for this training. Is there more clarification on this? Will there be a classroom/lab setup? What exactly is provided and what is needed?

Answer: Source needs to provide workstations if lab is a requirement for the course. It will be a classroom setup but it is not guaranteed that all students will have their own workstation/laptop.

Classroom will have a projector and internet access via Wi-Fi.

Question: You mention a refresher course and preparation course, are students planning on testing? Are you looking for testing/vouchers to be included?

Answer: Vouchers not required for this course. Students will have to pay out of pocket if they want to test.

Question: Have you done trainings like this onsite before? What are you typically paying for this kind of event? Who delivered the most recent one if you don't mind sharing?

Answer: Last onsite training was done by Secure Ninja.
