Directions from MCAS Cherry Point to BT-11

1. Starting at the MCAS Cherry Point Main Gate, take Highway 101 14 miles to Laurel Road (Parker Boat

Works will be on the left). Turn left on Laurel Road.

2. Follow Laurel Road 2.3 miles to the end. Laurel Road tees into Merrimon Road. Turn right on Merrimon Road.

3. Go 2.5 miles on Merrimon Road to the first stop light. Here, Merrimon Road will intersect with US-70.

The first stop light will be US-70 going to the left.

4. Follow US-70 to the first stop sign. This will be a small community named Smyrna. Turn left.

5. The next stop sign will be a small community called Davis. Turn left.

6. You will follow US-70 out of Davis through a small community named Stacy. You will cross a high rise bridge. After you cross the bridge, you will bear to the left on what is now Cedar Island Road, US-12. It is approximately 5 miles to the next high rise bridge.

7. The name of the bridge is the "Monroe Gaskill Bridge"; the name is on a sign on the right as you approach the bridge. Just before the bridge, there is a road to the left. This access road leads to the pier area where the boats to BT-11 are moored.

NOTE: The average time from MCAS Cherry Point to Thoroughfare Bridge is 60 minutes. The boat will leave promptly at 0730, so arrive in sufficient time to board the boat.
