INTRODUCTION
This checklist contains abbreviated inspection requirements that are necessary to determine the need for servicing and ensure the integrity of the aircraft for flight.
APPLICATION
Daily Inspection requirements shall be accomplished prior to the aircraft being released safe for flight. The Daily Inspection is valid for a period of 72 hours commencing from the date and time the inspection is completed, provided no flight occurs during this period and no maintenance other than servicing has been performed. Aircraft may be flown for 24 hours without another daily. This 24 hour period begins with the first launch following accomplishment of the daily inspection. The 24 hours cannot exceed the 72 hour expiration of the daily unless the expiration occurs during a mission.
A Turnaround Inspection shall be accomplished between flights and when more than 24 hours has elapsed since completion of the Daily Inspection on aircraft that have not been flown. The turnaround inspection is considered to be valid for a period of 24 hours commencing from the date and time the inspection is completed, provided that no flight and no maintenance other than servicing occurs during this period.
An asterisk (*) in front of those items requiring inspection indicates the Turnaround Inspection requirements.
Note: Turnaround Inspection may be waived on US Naval Training Command and Test Pilot School aircraft when cold refueling between flight evolutions if pilot in command stays the same.
CAUTION
Ensure area around aircraft is free of foreign objects and all safety items are properly positioned, removed or installed, as applicable.
