Question: Just confirming that the Government’s intent is for the contractor to bid 3.5.1 for inspection only – and that the work to be performed would be authorized by the Government dependent upon the findings of the visual inspection.
Response: Paragraph 3.5.4 will determine areas of the repairs for 40 linear feet of damaged rails per paragraph 3.5.1
Repairs shall be included on contractors estimate.
07) Question: SOW Work Item 3.6.1 “04 Level Life Line and Life Rail Install”
SOW States: Weld Install ABS Steel Lines and Rails on 100 percent of exterior perimeter including Awning, in accordance with drawing 804-5184155, match color and sheen to new preservation top coat of 3.6.9.
Upon review of drawing 804-5184155, it references an additional 10 drawings on Pg 1. Can the government provide the additional referenced drawings?
Response: Government is unable to supply additional drawings.
08) Question: SOW Work Item 3.6.8 “WI-3 Exterior Ladder Landing Platform”
SOW States: Accomplish the requirements of drawing 110-8573269 prior to the start of 3.6.9.
Upon review of drawing 110-8573269, it references an additional 5 drawings on Pg 1. Can the government provide the additional referenced drawings?
Response: The Government has supplied 5 additional drawings.
09) Question: SOW Work Item 3.6.1 “Life Line and Life Rail Style”
The SOW references Drawing 804-5184155, which has more than one style option as well as material options.
The one style that comes closest to the SOW description is sample K as listed above. However, this is not the style of hand rail on the Main Deck of level 03.
The style of hand rail on the Main Deck and level O3 is not listed as an option on drawing 804-5184155 and is a flat bar welded directly to the deck with Half Moon cut out for the horizontal rails to fit into.
1. Please verify the hand rail design that is wanted on the 04 deck and Awning.
Response: Paragraph 3.6.1 and sub-paragraphs specify the same requirements as drawing 804-5184155 Style K. “Weld Install ABS Steel Lines and Railes on 100 percent of exterior perimeter including Awning” Accomplish the requirements of the SOW.
