About this file

This is an Amendment of Solicitation (Amendment 0001) issued by the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Facilities Department for solicitation N400857495214, effective March 18, 2026. The amendment addresses repair of leaking domestic hot-water and cold-water lines in Building 4389 at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina.

The amendment extends key deadlines and provides clarifications based on pre-award questions and answers. The cutoff date for pre-award Requests for Information (RFIs) is now March 27, 2026, and the proposal submission deadline has been postponed to April 3, 2026 at 12:00 PM local time. The amendment confirms that work must be performed during a scheduled after-hours shutdown period, with the NHCCP Facilities Department assisting the contractor in securing the water supply. Specific repair locations and requirements are identified: Room 1122 requires a 4-inch 90-degree fitting at a leaking solder joint in the hot-water line; Corridor 2080 requires a 2.5-inch coupling for the hot-water line; and Room 2205 requires a 4-inch 90-degree fitting for the cold-water line. No valves require replacement. The amendment clarifies that the cause of the leaks is unknown and attributed to age-related solder joint failure. Cathodic protection conditions are unknown, and contractors are directed to inspect and install proper cathodic protection as necessary. Site visits have been offered to contractors to review existing conditions, with verification that leaks exist in rooms 1122, 2205, and 2080, but not in room 2166.
