Amendment 0008 7348665 Repl Fuel Tanks B4075
RFI Responses:
1. What is the existing underground piping material and size that is to remain?
Response: The existing underground piping is believe to be steel and 2”. This information must be field verified.
2. There is no mention of a transition sump at the tank pad to allow for the transition from the new above ground piping to the remaining underground piping. Will there be one? If so, will it need to be FRP similar to the dispenser sumps?
Response: The intent is for all of the underground piping to remain existing. A transition sump is not anticipated to be required.
3. Sheet E-101. Work Note 7. Contractor to provide Veeder-Root TLS-350 and rewire existing sensors and probes to support a a complete and operable system. We take exception to this. The TLS-350 has been decommissioned and is no longer available. Please advise which system the customer would like to proceed with. Also, it implies that the existing probes and sensors are to be reused. We take exception to this. With new tanks and sumps, new probes and new sensors are needed to ensure a complete and operable system.
Response: Contractor shall provide TLS-450Plus and associated appurtenances including probes, sensors, and alarms as required to match the existing functionality in kind. Revised drawings shall be issued indicating the change of scope.
4. Specification 33 56 10. Additional Equipment (Page 213). Stairs to access tank. Please define what the customer is desiring here. Is this a catwalk or ladder)
Response: The intent is for a ladder to be provided.
5. Specification 33 57 55. 2.4.2-4 (Pages 225 & 226). Management Control System. Please clarify. This could be a fuel management system or a point of sale system?
Response: Provide a fuel management system. Point of sale system is not required.
