About this file
This document is an Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract for a Geiger Quads G520 DOAS Replacement Project (Project No. 25-0078) issued by NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic. The amendment (No. 0006) provides answers to three contractor questions regarding technical specifications for Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) units, specifically addressing acceptable alternatives for frost protection, temperature control, and supplemental heating requirements.
The key clarifications include: (1) electric preheat is acceptable for frost protection, with the contractor responsible for any electrical component upgrades, (2) dewpoint control is not explicitly required, but DOAS units must maintain scheduled dry bulb and wet bulb temperatures, and (3) gas heat for supplemental dehumidification reheat is not required, but if available, the functionality must be enabled. The time and date for receipt of proposals remains unchanged at 17 September 2025 at 12:00 PM, and failure to acknowledge the amendment may constitute grounds for proposal rejection.

CONTINUATION SHEET
1. QUESTION: Is electric preheat acceptable for frost protection in lieu of a face and bypass damper?
ANSWER: Yes, electric preheat is acceptable. Contractor is responsible for any change in existing electrical components if the electrical requirements of the DOAS unit exceed the capacity of the existing electrical components.
2. QUESTION: Is supply air dry bulb temperature control acceptable in lieu of supply air dewpoint control?
ANSWER: Dewpoint control is not explicitly required, but the DOAS units must maintain the scheduled supply dry bulb and wet bulb temperatures.
3. QUESTION: Gas heat is not recommending for supplemental dehumidification reheat as defined in the sequence of operation. Is it acceptable to omit this function?
ANSWER: The use of gas heat as supplemental heating for dehumidification is not required. If available, this functionality must be enabled.
