0001 Scope

Please provide list of duty furniture that needs relocated to adjacent barrack 1245

For the relocation of the duty office there will be 2 desks and 2 chairs. This furniture will be located to room 120

Building 1245 G Barracks. And brought back to it original location after construction is complete.

Recreation/lounge furniture will be carefully stacked in the room and covered with protective padding and tarps. Work will need to be coordinated around this furniture and it may be necessary to relocate the furniture to complete the work. This furniture will also be relocated back to its' original location.

Marines prior to construction start.

Will we be using the existing washers and driers from Bldg.

1247 as the 32 units in the temporary laundry trailers?

No. See response to #15 below.

Can we utilize base utilities, for example, electric and/or natural gas to heat the driers depending on the drier type?

Only electricity is available. Yes, that can be used without charge.

A-002 Elevated

Walkway

Note 6 What will be an alternative solution if the elevated walkway requirements in notes

5,4,3 cannot be met?

Note 6 is referring to the corridor between each wing. It will only need to be coated to match the new and there will not be any repairs required in the corridor between the wings.

As for questions 3, 4, and 5. The condition of the floor slab cannot be determined until the removal of the floor finish. Because the finish is the only material being removed on the top of these slabs it is the design teams determination that the underlayment can be installed as designed without any issues, however in the event repairs cannot be made, as designed, an RFI will need to be submitted.

Contractor will pay for time beyond 6 months at approximately $1,000 per month. NOTE: The 6 month storage costs is based on the repairs to the

Hardware

Note 3 Does this note mean that all closers, weatherstripping, and thresholds are to be replaced and all other door hardware to remain existing?

Please clarify.

That is correct. And yes, this includes the hinges that are to remain, however if it is easier for the new door slabs to be installed with new hinges, that would be up to the contractor as a means and methods situation. In addition to this remark, new hinges would have to work with the existing frames.

NOTE: The existing door locks must be removed, labeled for what door it was on, stored in a secure location, and reinstalled on the new door to the original room.

Any errors with this coordination will be the responsibility of the contractor. See response to question #35 below for additional requirements regarding locksets.
