Question Response Page Section Paragraph

General question- Roof access

Mahan Hall; Will we be allowed to use roof hatches at Mahan (need interior access) to get to the low roof areas to allow us to access the areas to be repointed?

Please see the response to PPI #1

General question- Roof access Luce

Hall; Is there any roof access hatches that will allow us to access the hexagon skylight for the caulking work?

There are no roof hatches or roof tie offs at

Luce Hall.

N4008525R0038

General question- Roof access and tie off locations Luce Hall;

Chimney repair and skylight work, where would there be an accessible tie off location on this roof that does not involve walking on slate roof?

Should we carry a certain dollar amount for very minimal slate repair and if so what would that dollar amount be?

There are no tie offs on the roof of Luce

Hall

General question- Laydown area;

Where will the laydown area be located?

Please see the response to PPI #2

General question- Contractor parking; Where will workers be allowed to park?

TBD - parking in the direct vicinity is limited, CTR Parking will most likely be in Hampshire Field.

General question- Start date;

because the repointing work needs to occur in temps that are consistently above 55 degrees consistently, we are assuming that this work will be allowed to start in spring of 2026, please confirm.

From past experience, we believe it will not be possible to get the award, then submittals and submittal approvals within a two month or three month period so we will miss the season this year.

Work is expected to start in the spring of

2026, all submittals are expected to be completed / accepted prior to the start of work to prevent any delays

General question- how many wythes thick is the chimney that is to be repaired at Luce Hall?

Please reference the original drawings for

Luce Hall and Pringle Hall (attached separately), there are three wythes of brick.

Based on field observations, the brick chimney at Luce Hall is approximately 1'-

4" thick. Verify chimney thickness in the field.

Please see attachment labeled:

25R0038 - Original Drawings Luce Hall &

Pringle Hall

General question- how thick are the granite facade blocks?

Based on field observations and a review of original construction drawings for

Pringle Hall, the granite is nominally 4-inches thick.
