Note #2 SD-101 (Tunnel)
Note number two on plan sheet SD-101 directs the contractor to adequately support the north wall of the existing tunnel throughout construction.
Will the Navy allow complete removal of the existing wall in lieu of temporary support?
As shown on CD101 There is a concrete deadman and tieback that is placed against the existing tunnel wall, this wall is to remain such that the tieback is not compromisd.
16 3/19/2020 Tunnel Drawings
N/A SD101 Is any additional as-built information available for the deadman anchor adjacent to the existing tunnel?
Only information found is provided in 1990 Dry Dock No.2 Modernization reference drawings

N/A S-506 detail A3
Detail A3 shows a different style rail clip than detail A1. Can we use A1 detail or do you have any
The details in A3 are for a narrower clip. The clip should be coordinated with the manufacturer to fit on the plate, whereas the maximum distance from the outer edge of clips on each side does not exceed 10" further specification available for A3?
19 3/23/2020 Tunnel Drawings
N/A S-503 Detail A1
This shows a ¾” base plate on top of the crane rail base plate but lacks any other dimensions.
Are dimensions available?
Both plates are 3/4" wt. The upper base plate is shown on detail A3 /506 across the tunnel. The lower plate extends 1/2" past the web of the beam to allow for welding. The flange is 11.25" +2* (1/2")= 12.25"

Is a profile for the existing electrical duct bank available to help determine appropriate temporary support?
No existing duct bank profile has been identified.
The locations of the manholes are shown on the drawings and the existing field notes of the manholes have been provided with measurements of where the ducts come into the manhole.
Profiles in select locations can be found in the provided reference drawings. Contractor must provide their own field verifications.
27 3/24/2020 Crane Rail Drawings
N/A V-101- V-104
Will the Navy consider adding pay items for removal and replacement of existing Underground Electrical, Steam, Water, Sewer and other Utilities in conflict with Crane Rail Demolition and Replacement?
If not please further define the scope of removal and replacement.
All utilities not required to be demolished in the CD drawings, should be protected during demolition and remain in service. The cost of protection should be covered in the existing pay items, no additional pay items will be added.
28 3/24/2020 Crane Rail Drawings
