Will the deck need to be shored prior to concrete pours for slab on deck?

Please verify if current design includes deflection.

Response: No, the design is for unshored installation. Beams and girders are cambered as necessary. Place the concrete topping a constant 3” thick atop the 3” composite steel deck.

Structural S-113 Please provide details for the concrete stairs shown on S-113 at the exterior walk.

Response: Detailing should be a combination of Exterior Stair Section B1 / A-232 and Section B1 / S-504. Extend the reinforcing indicated in B1 / S-504 into the stair slab and the vertical wall section beneath the bottom step. The slab minimum thickness beneath the steps is 6 ¾” and the thickness of the vertical wall section beneath the bottom step is 8”.

Response: All materials & colors are intended to be equal to those shown on A- 201; the manufacturer of this material may be other than the Basis of Design described product so long as color, grain, and quality are matches.

A-201 Confirm that all ground face stretchers are 5 5/8” x 7 5/8” x 15 5/8” (6” x 8” x 16”). Sheet A- 201 states 7 5/8” x 15 5/8”, which I would assume is the height by length. All wall sections state 6” ground face.

Please confirm.

Response: Height by Length is shown on A-

201. Material depths are shown in wall sections

A-611, A-

Please confirm that when stainless steel flashing in called out (i.e. A1/A-611) that this means a Stainless Steel Drip Edge. If you reference detail A3/A- 631, this detail illustrates a stainless steel drip edge used along with the flexible through wall flashing and no stainless steel through wall flashing shown. Please confirm that all through wall flashing applications are flexible flashing with a stainless steel drip edge.

Response: Through-wall flashing is flexible.

Stainless steel pan flashing with turn-down, hemmed drip edge is to be provided as shown in A-631

S-510 The bent plate masonry anchors shown in sections B1/S-510, would be nearly impossible to field weld in place after the CMU walls are in place. In place of this detail it is suggested to use a Ex.

Hohmann & Bernard anchors, in lieu of the bent place anchors, with headed stud. Please advise if this would be acceptable.

Response: DOR Recommended Response:

The expected sequence of construction is to weld the plate / Nelson stud assembly to the perimeter beam where directed by the mason as his work comes near but still below the plate level. See the note to this effect in the detail. To facilitate placement of blocks below the Nelson studs, it would be acceptable to remove, by grinding or cutting in the shop, the portion of stud head below the stud shank. The purpose of the bent plate assembly goes beyond that of typical masonry ties. The perimeter CMU walls serve as shear walls to brace the building’s steel frame through transfer of diaphragm shears from the floor and roof decks through the plate assemblies into the walls. They also tie the masonry walls to the structure to resist the suction forces from high wind.

A-115, A-

On Sheet A-115 in room 1D08 it specifies VP2 and an overhead coiling counter door in the same location. On detail D-1 on A-435 the Physical Therapy entrance does not specify an overhead coiling counter door.

Then on sheet A-442 cut section A4 it specifies the PT Reception Section but it was also referenced for the Audiology Reception cut section.

If it is indeed an overhead coiling counter door then it is missing from the door schedule. 7 doors are showing on the door schedule but there appears to be 8 please confirm.

Response: A rolling counter door is not required at for the counter at Room 1D08.

The VP2 rolling counter window provides security at this location.

Solicitation On CLIN 0001 it is asking for 0001 AA and 0001 AB as base price. Is there a quantity provided for the non- Identified buried concrete and debris or should this just be a unit price?

Response: The DOR recommends that a value be included in the bid form for the quantity of this material to establish a reasonable unit price: the quantity of 200 cubic yards is recommended.
