About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract N3904026Q5450 regarding Teikoku/ChemPump pump supply.

Teikoku raised a critical specification concern regarding quotation requests for pump model GC-3K-3S, noting that the model number alone is insufficient to define the full scope of supply. The vendor indicated it cannot provide an accurate quotation without additional information to determine NDE requirements, construction requirements, testing requirements, and other specifications. To resolve this issue, Teikoku requested that end users provide either: (1) the serial number of the original pump supply (which can be found on the pump nameplate if the model number and impeller trim are available), or (2) if the serial number cannot be located, the original purchase order number for the pump supply to allow the vendor to reference the original order specifications. The answer indicates that these questions were forwarded to the Technical Point of Contact (Tech POC) for resolution, with a commitment to update the Q&A sheet once clarification is received.

N3904026Q5450 Teikoku/ ChemPump Q&A

Question: “Teikoku has received an abundance of requests for pump model GC-3K-3S. However, the model number alone is not enough to provide a quotation. The model number only tells us which pump hydraulic and motor needs to be supplied. It does not tell us if there are any NDE requirements, construction requirements, testing requirements, etc. As such, Teikoku will need the following from the end user:

1. SERIAL NUMBER of the original pump supply. Teikoku suspects if they have the model number and impeller trim as detailed in the SOW, then they can find the serial number. This would be stamped on the nameplate of the pump if they would rather take a photo.

2. If the serial number cannot be found, then Teikoku would request the original purchase order number for the pump supply. From this information, we can back into the original order and find the pump the customer is looking for.

Unfortunately, without 1 or 2 above, Teikoku cannot quote as the scope of supply is not fully defined on Teikoku’s end. “

Answer: These questions have been forwarded to the Tech POC and the Q&A Sheet will be updated once I hear back from him.
