Mission Systems Engineering
Mission Statement:
Specializing in engineering, design, development, and integration of airborne mission and training systems and technologies to meet Warfighter needs. Subject matter experts in mission system design, integration, fielding, and support; training systems; and maintenance systems. Typical TRL 6+ with durations of 1-4 years for mission systems and 6 months to 2 years for training and maintenance systems. Primary products include airborne mission systems, training systems, IETMs, and maintenance systems.
• VH-92A Mission Communications System (MCS)
• The ASI Division is designing a government-controlled communications system for use in the future Presidential Helicopter. This design was provided to the Aircraft OEM for integration into the helicopter. The government design approach avoided significant cost and a longer schedule for the program, accelerating the initial operating capability by 18 months and avoiding over $1 billion in cost.
• Software Reprogrammable Payload (SRP)
• SRP is an open-architecture, government-owned reference design for a flexible, in-operational reconfigurable software radio designed to meet current and future needs for USMC air and ground platform systems supporting a wide variety of missions.
• ePerformance
• Support numerous sponsors in the areas of interactive courseware, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and planned maintenance
• Created and maintain DADMS-approved IETM viewer (NavXML) and content authoring system for 20+ products in support of the Fleet
• Multi-Mission Payload Heavy (MMP-H)
• US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) supports Military Information Support Operations (MISO) for Special Operations Forces (SOF). SOCOM has been tasked to upgrade the MISO capability of the EC-130J Commando Solo to support a variety of information operations including radio, television and cellular communications.
• E-6B Weapon System
• Is a multi-mission, land-based, in-flight refueled aircraft based on the Boeing 707 airframe that includes the integrated mission avionics of the "Take Charge and Move Out" (TACAMO) and Airborne Command Post (ABNCP) missions
• Supports the US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) ABNCP and TACAMO missions as an airborne element of the network of Survivable Mobile Command Centers (SMCCs); as such, the E-6B plays an integral role supporting survivable command, control, and communications (C3) requirements of the President and Secretary Of Defense

Why We Exist “Rapid response means deliberately and intelligently assuming more risk to achieve greater speed.” – VADM Dunaway
“…..We are…in a competition, and there is no second place. The adversary is gaining on us, and the margin of victory is slim. We must pick up the pace. We need to get out of our comfort zone. Shed the layers of oversight, reviews and procedures that don't add value to the end product or capability.” – VADM Grosklags
We develop innovative and advanced solutions for the warfighter.

Bottom Line Right Up Front
• As stated in the National Defense Strategy, "The Department's technological advantage depends on a healthy and secure national security innovation base that includes both traditional and nontraditional defense partners."
• Small businesses are a critical team member and a key catalyst to accelerate innovation. The Department of the Navy's (DON) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) is leading the charge to maximize opportunities for small businesses to participate as prime and subcontractors in support of the Navy and Marine Corps.
• Utilizing small businesses capabilities should be a preferred choice.
• "Small Business - The First Option" is the very essence of everything we do as acquisition professionals to maximize the advantage, agility, innovation, and responsiveness that small businesses bring to the warfighter.
