About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a federal contract opportunity related to Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) maintenance for the United States Naval Observatory (USNO). The document addresses two key questions from potential contractors:
Question 1 details specific battery requirements for 4 Eaton UPS units, including quantities and part numbers for VRLA Sealed batteries (2 x PWHR12540W4FR with 80 jars, 1 x PWHR12120W3FR with 40 jars, and 1 x PWHR12200W4FR with 40 jars). The batteries are for different UPS models, and the requirement specifies that each UPS must be serviced independently, with the B83 UPSs operating in parallel. Question 2 clarifies a revision to the Statement of Work (SOW), changing the maintenance reporting requirement from progress reports for preventive maintenance visits to service reports for each battery upon completion, to be submitted to the USNO Technical Point of Contact.

Text version
Question 1: "our engineering team would like to know the amp hours, and if any back up was needed?
The batteries need to be equivalent or better than the below. Backup not needed, as each UPS must be done independently not at the same time; the B83 UPSs are in parallel.
• Qty 2 – Eaton Battery Part # PWHR12540W4FR, VRLA Sealed, 80 jars for UPS Model #9315-100-160.
• Qty 1 - Eaton Battery Part #PWHR12120W3FR, VRLA Sealed, 40 jars for UPS Model #9390-100-120.
• Qty 1 - Eaton Battery Part #PWHR12200W4FR, VRLA Sealed, 40 jars for Model #9390-40- 80.
Question 2: “Contractor shall provide service maintenance reports to the USNO Technical Point of Contact (POC) listed below. This report shall include progress made for each preventive maintenance visit." Are we required to maintenance the batteries?"
This was an error on the SOW. SOW revised to state “Upon completion, Contractor shall provide service reports for each battery to the USNO Technical Point of Contact (POC) listed below.”
