About this file
This is a technical drawing/schematic document for a chiller piping installation project at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), Building A69, under project number PW 6860.
The document depicts a new chiller piping plan for a furnace installation, showing the layout and connections for water, process gases, and compressed air systems. Key components illustrated include a pump room, furnace connection, control cabinet doors, and various piping runs with numbered connection points. The plan specifies 1-1/2" copper piping for main connections with associated pressure gauges, temperature thermostats, vibration hoses, and ball valves. Critical installation requirements outlined in the general notes include: all work must be new and provided under the contract unless specifically marked as existing; verification of existing locations and dimensions prior to construction start; validation and survey responsibilities assigned to the contractor; installation of electronically controlled valves at water inlet and outlet; draining of the exhaust arm hood; mounting of the air regulator; placement of a strainer on the return line; installation of an elbow over the existing heat line; and maintenance of a minimum 40-inch clearance between the chiller and adjacent structures on all sides. The drawing is marked as controlled unclassified information for official use only and is drawn to a scale of 3/16" = 1'-0".
