SLOC Info Table Preparation Instructions
Column NameDescription
ReleaseRelease associated to identified Software Component
Software Component NameNames of components to be estimated. May include rollup level components as well as lower level components that roll up
Removed Code SLOCIdentifies code included in legacy system that is not to be included in this release
New Code SLOC (No Autogen)Describes the amount of code in an entirely new component.
Reused Code SLOCPre-existing code that is treated as a black box and plugged into the product (i.e., no changes to the code).
Percent Integration for ReusedRepresents the percentage of effort required to integrate the reused software into an overall product and to test the resulting product as compared to the normal amount of integration and test effort for software of comparable size. If Unknown - Defaults to 5%
Adapted Code SLOCPre-existing code that is treated as a white box and is modified for use with the product (i.e., a pre-existing module to which code is added and/or deleted and/or modified).
Modified Code SLOCAmount of code within an Adapted module that must be added, deleted, or modified for use in the new software project
Percent Code ModifiedRepresents the percentage of the adapted software's code which is modified in order to adapt it to the new objectives and environment (i.e., Modified Code SLOC / Adapted Code SLOC).
Percent Design ModifiedRepresents the percentage of the adapted software's design which is modified in order to adapt it to the new objectives and environment. If Unknown - Defaults to Percent of Code Adapted
Percent Integration for AdaptedRepresents the percentage of effort required to integrate the adapted software into an overall product and to test the resulting product as compared to the normal amount of integration and test effort for software of comparable size. If Unknown - Defaults to Percent of Code Modified
Logical / Physical SLOC *Identifies whether user provided SLOC counts are in Physical or Logical lines of code
Logical / Physical SLOC FactorFactor to convert user provided SLOC to logical lines of code
% Autogen - NewPercentage of New SLOC that is autogenerated. Not recommended for use in the model (i.e., use zero)
Rationale / BasisBasis for SLOC values
