PROJECT ASSIGNMENT FOR THE PREPARATION OF A PROJECT FOR UPGRADE

AND RECONSTRUCTION OF A PRIMARY SCHOOL IN THE VILLAGE PIRAVA

In the village Pirava, municipality of Valandovo, there is a facility - Primary School Goce

Delchev, with ground floor and partly floor plus partly basement.

On the ground floor there are 3 classrooms, a dining room, a kitchen, a teacher’s office, a gym and a toilet.

On the first floor there are 2 classrooms, 2 wardrobes for students and a room for teaching aids.

In the basement there are auxiliary rooms (boiler room, storage room, warehouse, etc.)

The facility was built in two phases: the first phase - sixty years ago and the second phase -later when the gym was built.

The existing capacity does not meet the current needs of the school, i.e., the needs of the village and the capacity needs to be increased, that is, the number of classrooms needs to be increased in order to reduce the number of students in the existing classrooms.

Since the facility is very old, its renovation is necessary.

The renovation should include all the works needed to improve the facility’s energy efficiency, replacement of worn-out materials with new ones with improved characteristics, etc.

In that regard, the following works are necessary:

- to replace the roof, which is dilapidated and there are roof leaks in many positions. In addition, the roof of the gym (asbestos cement salonite) is not environmentally friendly, i.e., it is harmful to the health of the people.

- to replace the wooden paneling on the ceilings, which is outdated

- to replace the existing vinyl-flex floors with a more modern and environmentally friendly PVC floor with ecological characteristics and homogeneous biodegradable materials.

- to replace all the doors of the classrooms and other rooms with better quality and more durable ones

- to replace worn-out tiles in the sanitary facilities

- to replace the sanitary equipment in the sanitary facilities

- to envisage complete refreshing and painting of the internal room wall

- to envisage a new electrical switchboard

- to envisage a new lightning rod installation

- to envisage hydrants according to the fire protection regulations

The facility on the ground floor should be adapted according to the Regulations for unobstructed access for wheelchairs for people with physical disabilities (ramp at the entrance from the upper side, one toilet where there are conditions for this, etc.).

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

FOR THE PREPARATION OF A BASIC DESIGN FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF A

FACILITY - PRIMARY SCHOOL IN THE VILLAGE PIRAVA, MUNICIPALITY OF

VALANDOVO

LOCATION:

The existing facility is located in the central-north part of the village Pirava.

The facility is on Cadastral Parcel 14790, Cadastral Municipality Pirava.

The area of the plot is 5.293 m2.

The terrain has a slight slope of about 7-8º.

It has good insolation with the orientation of the slope towards the southeast and southwest.

There is high and low-growing greenery at the location.

The soil is dry, drained, without underground water.

The existing facility has two floors. Ground floor of the entire outline and a partial floor in one part of the facility, and plus a basement in one part of the facility.

On the ground floor there are 2 classrooms, an activity room for children of preschool age, an office for information technology, a kitchen, a dining room, a teacher’s office, a sports hall

(gym), a toilet and communications.

On the first floor there are two classrooms, a warehouse for teaching materials, wardrobes for male and female children and a corridor.

In the basement, there is a wood-fired boiler room, an oil boiler room, a storage room for wood, an inventory warehouse, and another auxiliary room.

The existing building is built in a mixed massive system with massive thick load-bearing walls with a thickness of 40 to 60 cm with confining wall of reinforced concrete and one part of a skeletal system of load-bearing columns and beams (the gym and the lower ground part that is subject to upgrading). We assume that these parts were built later.

The inter-floor structure of the existing part is a massive slab. The facility is mostly covered with clay pantile over a wooden roof structure, except for the gym where we have a roof covering made of salonite boards over lattice R-beams.

The floors in the corridors, the kitchen and the toilets are made of ceramic tiles, in the gym there is parquet, and in the other parts, there are vinflex panels.

The windows of the entire facility have been replaced with PVC windows.

The doors are wooden-framed in bad condition.

The facade of the facility has been renovated and meets the thermal regulations – the facility has a new demit façade.

This project envisages a reconstruction and adaptation of one part on the ground floor and reconstruction of the existing rooms on the first floor, or more precisely, renovation of the rest of the facility.

According to the requests of the client and in accordance with the regulations and norms for this type and purpose of the facility, two classrooms, a wardrobe, and a vestibule are envisaged in the upgraded part.

By adapting the northwest part of the ground floor, instead of the existing kitchen and dining room, one large classroom is obtained, and the office for information technology is also converted into a classroom.

The purpose and function of the other contents in the facility remain unchanged.

The reconstruction and renovation envisage more extensive work on all parts of the facility, namely:

- replacement of a dilapidated existing roof covering of roofing tiles and salonite and partial replacement of the roof structure with a new covering made of ribbed plasticized sheet metal

- replacement of a ceiling made of wooden paneling with a suspended ceiling made of plasterboard

- replacement of all internal doors

- replacement of floors in all rooms except classrooms downstairs

- replacement of sanitary equipment in the existing sanitary facilities

- painting works in the entire facility

- additional thermal insulation of the ceiling in order to improve the energy characteristics of the facility

The following contents shall be obtained with new solution provides:

The orientation of most of the teaching premises is towards southeast - southwest, which is favorable in terms of providing bright and sunny rooms, without intrusion of the sun at a low angle.

The regulations for disabled persons with wheelchairs have been applied and to that end, a ramp for the movement of a wheelchair with a slope of maximum 5% has been provided on the north side (second - emergency exit), entrance doors larger than 100 cm with an outward opening and a toilet dimensioned for manipulation with a wheelchair, a toilet door with a width of 100 cm and outward opening.

The existing footpath on the north-west side is being used for access of disabled persons, which has a prescribed slope and is finished with behaton tiles (concrete pavement blocks), and it leads to the rear part of the yard for an access to the newly planned ramp.

The entrance to the building is from the bottom (southeast side). There are two entrances, one of which is the main entrance and one emergency entrance - for evacuation. From a fire safety point of view, two exits are required.

ANALYSIS OF AREAS

The gross area of the facility is 678 m2 on the ground floor and 223 m2 on the first floor. The total gross area is 899 m2.

The net area is 529.0 m2 on the ground floor and 165.66 m2 on the first floor, or a total of

694.66 m2.

The area of the plot is 5293 m2

The percentage of space utilization is 80.2%.

The percentage of built area is 13%.

The coefficient of utilization of the construction plot is 0.17.

CONSTRUCTION AND PROCESSING:

The existing structure is a combined skeletal system of the more recent part (the hall and the part near the dining room and the kitchen) and a massive system with load-bearing walls with a thickness of 40-60 cm.

The roof is complex multi-duct roof and it does not change the geometry.

The envisaged works include complete replacement of the roof covering with a plasticized ribbed sheet metal with a partial replacement of slats – sawn timber and substructure, replacement of eaves, gutters and sheet metal paneling, etc.

The walls are made of classic materials (full brick and ceramic block 25cm). Complete painting works on all wall surfaces have been planned. On the ceilings, the existing paneling is being dismantled and a suspended plasterboard ceiling is being installed.

The façade is demit façade with an insulation thickness of 10 cm.

A thermal insulation Styrodur of 2 cm will be envisaged in the floor, on the part that is being adapted. A minimum of 20 cm of stone wool is envisaged on the roof as non-flammable thermal insulation.

On the floors in the classrooms, a homogenous sealed PVC floor is envisaged, with a previous leveling with an olma mass.

New doors made of HDF filling and CPL finishing film resistant to scratches and easy to maintain are envisaged. The doors for the most part open outwards 180 degrees except in specific cases where this is not feasible.

INSTALLATIONS:

A new electrical installation in the entire facility and an installation for internet and TV are envisaged.

In the toilet, the two sinks in the vestibule are moved to the other side for easier manipulation of a wheelchair for disabled persons.

The heating is with radiators, connected to the existing local boiler room located in the basement and no interventions are envisaged in this part, because it is functional and it meets the needs.

TRAFFIC SOLUTION AND PARKING:

The building has a large plot with unlimited parking possibilities, so the situation in regard to the parking needs does not change with the increased size of the building.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

Facility: “PRIMARY SCHOOL“

RENOVATION and RECONSTRUCTION

1. General

The project for the electrical installation is made according to architectural-interior foundations and according to the applicable norms and regulations.

2. Energy connection and energy distribution

According to the power balance of the facility, a cable is envisaged to the measuring-distribution cabinet, which is positioned on the external part of the facility. Considering that it is a matter of renovation and reconstruction of the facility, there is an existing supply at the facility. A check should be made according to the load calculated for the reconstructed facility, indicated in the single-pole scheme, if the existing supply does not meet the requirements, it should be replaced with an appropriate one that corresponds to the calculation.

The place which will be the point of connection of the facility from the distribution network will be determined by EVN according to the Energy Consent from the Transformer Station or from the consumption cabinet to the measuring-distribution cabinet.

The measurement of the consumed electricity is performed with three-phase two-tariff meters

10-60(A) positioned in the measuring-distribution cabinet.

The switchboards are envisaged to be built-in or wall-mounted depending on the conditions, and the position is shown on the foundations.

3. Electric lighting

The electrical lighting in the facility is envisaged to be with LED panel lamps, in the classrooms and the office.

The lighting in the toilets is with waterproof ceiling lamps and LED lamps.

4. Electrical installation for sockets and other consumers

For the needs of the building, in all classrooms and other auxiliary rooms, a sufficient number of single-phase sockets with protective contact have been envisaged for the necessary purposes, as well as for general purposes. These sockets are at a height of 0.50 meters from the floor. In addition to these sockets, sockets for air conditioners have also been envisaged, installed at a height of 2.3 meters, for which a type C fuse is provided in the switchboard.

In front of the toilets, if necessary (depending on the plumbing and heating installation), a potential equalization box is mounted in which the connections from the metal parts in the bathroom are made with a conductor to the potential equalization box. The potential equalization conductor is led to the switchboard where it is connected to a grounding bar, which is connected to the fifth conductor of the supply cable from the measuring-distribution cabinet. In this way, all metal parts that may be subjected to voltage, are equalized with the ground potential.

5. Telephone and computer installation

The separation of the telephone and computer installation is performed from an existing weak current cabinet. In the facility, the installation to the telephone and computer sockets is carried out with an FTP cat5. cable placed in a flexible hose. The telephone and computer sockets are

RJ45.

6. TV installation

In order to watch TV programs, there is a possibility to connect through a cable operator or through telecom. The connection from the TV cabinets to the junction boxes is conducted with an RG 6 cable. From the junction boxes, the cable is placed into a plastic flexible hose and it is led to the TV socket.

7. Fire protection installation

In case of immediate danger, it is possible to disconnect the AS switch, positioned in the measuring-distribution cabinet, i.e., disconnect the facility’s power supply. The disconnection is carried out by a drum switch positioned in a glazed cabinet, near the board, or in the event of a fire, with a signal from the fire switch, which is activated by a signal from the manual alarms installed at different positions in the building, as presented in the project. At the same time, in the event of a fire, through the fire switch, the alarm sirens are activated, which are installed at appropriate positions in the building, as presented in the project. The emergency (panic) lights are simultaneously activated, and they provide the minimum intensity of light for the evacuation of the occupants.

8. Emergency (panic) light

Emergency (panic) lights are envisaged on each floor, in the halls and stairwells as well as in the basement. They are arranged according to the provided project. The lights are activated in the event of a power failure and in the event of a fire, and they provide the minimum brightness required for the safe evacuation of the students, teachers, and other staff. The lamps are equipped with a nickel-cadmium battery that allows them to be active for 90 minutes.

9. Protective grounding and lightning rod

The grounding in the building is existing.

The rod on the roof is placed on suitable supports. All chimneys and metal parts of the roof

(gutters).

The project for the new lightning rod installation is provided in the complete project. The rod from the lightning protection installation is connected to the existing terminals of the grounding device.

Before putting the facility into operation, the contractor is obliged to provide an authorized organization that will perform a complete measurement of the protective grounding and issue a certificate for the functionality of the installation. If the existing grounding does not meet the necessary parameters, additional grounding should be performed.

ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION – CALCULATION

SELECTION AND CHECK OF POWER SUPPLY LINES

The selection of power lines is made depending on the nominal current that the receivers have during normal operation.

The check of the supply lines is carried out in order to examine whether the selected types and cross-sections of the lines meet the requirements in terms of heating, i.e., current load, in regard to the permitted voltage drop and the efficiency of the protection system in case of short circuit and touch voltage.

1. CHECK OF THE POWER SUPPLY LINES IN REGARD TO THE

PERMITTED CURRENT LOAD

The highest current that can load a line, while the heating remains within the permitted limits, is determined by the expression

Itd =Kt ⸱Kbk ⸱ Imd with the following meaning:

Imd - permitted current load for the appropriate type, section, and voltage of the line (determined according to the technical regulations for the performance of electrical installations in buildings, i.e., according to the catalog of the cable manufacturer) and

Kt - influence of the ambient temperature and the operating temperature of the cable, Kbk - influence of other parallelly laid cables, The power supply line is correctly selected if the following requirement is met:

In. < Int.

with the following meaning:

In. - nominal current of the receiver, that is, at the place where the check is carried out.

2. CHECK OF THE POWER SUPPLY LINES IN REGARD TO THE

PERMITTED VOLTAGE DROP

The voltage drop, during the normal mode of operation of the receivers, for single-phase lines, is determined with the following equation:

For three-phase lines, the following equation is used:

When starting electric motors, the following equation is determined:

with the following meaning:

l – length of the line (m)

Pe – simultaneous (maximum) power (kW) y – specific conductivity (mS/mm2)

S – cross-section of the line (mm2), U – nominal voltage (V), In – starting current of the electric motor (A), and φ – power factor.

According to the technical regulations, the permitted voltage drop in the electrical installations amounts to:

1. If they are powered from the low-voltage distribution network: for electric lighting and electric motor drive, from the transformer station (TS) to the main fuse in the building up to 3% from the main fuse to the last electrical receiver up to 3% from the transformer station to the last electrical receiver up to 6%

2. If they are they powered from their own transformer station: - for electric lighting up to 6% for electric lighting and electric motor drive up to 5% for electric motor drive up to 7% when starting up electric motors up to 19 %

The selection of the power line is properly performed if the following requirement is met:

u (%) < udoz. (%)

3. CHECK OF THE POWER SUPPLY LINES IN REGARD TO THE SELECTED

PROTECTIVE DEVICES (MKS NB2.743)

The highest current that can load a line, while the heating remains within the permitted limits is Itd, which is calculated as described above. The protective devices should provide safe overload shutdown before permanent damage to power lines occurs.

Kos ⸱ Inos < 1.45 ⸱ Itd with the following meaning:

Itd - permanent allowed current load for the appropriate type, cross-section and voltage of the line

(determined according to the technical regulations for the execution of electrical installations in buildings, i.e., according to the catalog of the cable manufacturer, taking into account the factors of - influence of the ambient temperature and the operating temperature of the cable and - influence of other parallelly laid cables, Inos - nominal current of the selected protective device

Kos - coefficient that depends on the type of selected protective device

A tabular presentation is provided with the calculations for the selection of power lines for the main cabinets that are not covered by the remaining projects, for stage technology, ground floor, general electricity installations.

CALCULATION OF GROUND RESISTANCE

Rz – Ground resistance ρb = 250(Ω/m) – specific resistance of concrete

L –length of the rod d – half the width of the rod in m.

Rz = 4.08 Ω < 5 Ω

After the installation of the grounding rod, the value should be measured and a report should be prepared by an authorized organization. If the measured values do not meet the prescribed parameters, additional grounding should be carried out.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

HIGH-VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS

1. These technical requirements are an integral part of the electrical installation and therefore they are mandatory for the contractor.

2. The electrical installation will be carried out according to the MKS regulations, which refer to the following type of work, the plan, the calculation, and these technical requirements.

3. When the conductors for single-phase or three-phase power supply are placed in pipes, all conductors that belong to one circuit must be placed in the same pipe.

4. The metal protective coatings of the pipes must not be used as grounding conductors.

5. The mutual joining of the conductors should be carried out with connectors. Conductor soldering in electrical installations should be avoided.

6. Conductors can be extended only in junction and junction boxes.

7. Parallel conducting of the electrical lines and the channels for the chimneys should be avoided, and if this is not possible, the lines should be placed at a distance of approximately 20cm from the channels.

8. Insulation needs to be placed when crossing the electric conductors with the channels for the chimneys.

9. In the case of parallel conducting of insulated electrical lines for high-voltage electricity

(in pipes and on insulating bodies) with gas, steam, heat, and water pipes, a distance of at least 5 cm should be left between the lines and the pipes, and at least 3cm when crossing, and heat insulation needs to be placed on the heat pipes.

10. The crossing and parallel conducting of the weak current installation and the high-voltage conductors should be avoided. At the points of intersection, which should be at a right angle, the distance between the lines must be at least 10 cm, and where this is not possible, insulation with a thickness of 3cm should be placed.

11. In case of parallel laying of horizontal lines of the installation for strong current (high-voltage electricity), telephones and weak current (low-voltage electricity), the strong current lines are laid 30cm from the ceiling, and the weak current lines at 10 mm above the signaling. In any case, the distance between the strong and weak current lines must be at least 20 cm. The junction boxes for those lines are placed opposite each other, inclined at an angle of 45°. The weak current conductors need to be placed in separate pipes with separate junction boxes, so that they are completely separated from the strong current conductors.

12. When passing through a partition wall, the pipes between a wet and a dry room should be laid in such a way to ensure that moisture cannot enter their openings and to prevent water pooling or accumulation of water inside them. The pipes should be made of material that is resistant to moisture and should be laid so that they have a slope, towards the wet room. The same rule applies when laying pipes through the external wall of the building, with the slope of the pipes towards the outside.

13. When passing through a partition wall, between a wet and a dry room, the lines for the wet room must be terminated in a dry room, with equipment intended for wet rooms.

14. When cable-like lines without iron strip are conducted, they must be protected with metal pipes. It is recommended that the ends of the metal pipe do not protrude beyond the wall, they should end in the wall, and that the holes in the wall need to be rounded and filled with plaster.

15. Fastening of cable-like lines by means of clamps must be performed at a maximum distance of 30 cm for line sections up to 2.5 mm2, and for lines with a section over 4 up to 10 mm2, it must be performed at a distance up to 40 cm.

16. The pipes of all types should be laid in a straight line and only vertically and horizontally. Slanted laying can be performed only in a specific case.
