About this file
This file is a memorandum from the City of Dania Beach Department of Finance requesting approval for annual preventive maintenance and on-call services for the city's surveillance camera systems from AMC Surveillance Camera & Electronics. The request includes preventive maintenance services and contingency funding for service calls to address equipment malfunctions, vandalism, damage from inclement weather, and technician labor costs. The services are billed on an as-needed basis for the on-call component, with no specific response dates or bidder meetings noted. The memorandum does not specify a formal contract term but references the city's relationship with AMC since 2013, indicating an ongoing service arrangement.
The total estimated annual cost for the services is $33,660.00, comprised of $14,160 for preventive maintenance and $19,500 for service calls contingency. Funding is available in FY25 through the Information Technology Division Account #507-17-04-516-46-10 for Contractual Services General. The memorandum indicates that AMC is the incumbent contractor and notes that the city requests a waiver of competitive bidding, citing the advantages of maintaining a single uniform contractor for streamlined operations, cost-efficiency, consistent service, efficient scalability, technology upgrades, and standardized data security protocols. The document was approved by the City Manager on October 4, 2024.
