About this file
This is a Mastication Unit Map document related to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the State of Utah Division of Purchasing on behalf of the Wildlife Resources department for vegetation treatment services in Grand County. The project requires mastication treatments to remove pinyon/juniper vegetation across a base acreage of 1,100.3 acres with an optional 527.1 acres located in the Triangle Uplands. Work is scheduled to occur during two periods: November 1st, 2026 through February 28th, 2027, and August 1st, 2027 through September 28th, 2027, with no work permitted between March 1st and July 31st, 2027 due to wildlife restrictions. The treatment objective is to restore the landscape to a mosaic pattern of varying densities with scattered untreated leave islands using bullhog-type mastication equipment. No mandatory site visit is required prior to bidding; however, potential bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the project site to assess conditions and costs. The IFB is limited to prequalified contractors only, and award will be made to the lowest cost responsive and responsible vendor.
The total project budget is $721,079 for all acres. Vendors must guarantee their pricing through project completion and are responsible for satisfying themselves regarding site conditions that may affect performance costs. This solicitation anticipates a single contract award and represents a repost of a previous opportunity. Participation is restricted to contractors on the current Pre-approved/Pre-qualified Vendor list, and failure to inspect the site will not constitute grounds for claims after contract award.
