About this file

This is a Location Specification Sheet (LSS) from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for large carcass removal and disposal services in the Metro Region Macomb Transportation Service Center jurisdiction. The contract period runs from June 30, 2020 to June 29, 2025, with two one-year renewal options. Services include weekly patrols of specified routes (I-94, I-696, M-59, and M-53) covering 157 miles, with an estimated 52 regular patrols annually and the possibility of additional optional patrols. The scope includes approximately 100 carcass removals and 40 emergency mobilizations annually, with emergency responses required within 2 hours.

The pricing structure requires vendors to submit unit costs for regular patrols, optional patrols, individual carcass removal/disposal, and emergency mobilization services. Fuel surcharges are to be calculated according to a referenced Table 1. Contractors must provide a complete equipment list detailing the make, model, engine type, age, and ownership status of all equipment to be used in service delivery. The contract specifies that equipment failure will not be accepted as a reason for service deviation, and any schedule adjustments must receive prior approval from the Program Manager.
