Questions and Anwers to RFQ M67854‐18‐Q‐7606 12 March 2018 Attachment 4
Q # RFP/PWS Section Reference Question/Comment Government Answers Revision to Solicitation
RFQ, General The solicitation uses the word Integrated Marking Carts, however I do not see any mention of a cart throughout the Statement of Work document. Please confirm if there are any requirement for an actual cart/table/stand for all items listed in Attachment B of the SoW document to be placed on. If there is a requirement for a cart, must it be mobile? Does the cart need to provide power?
There is no requirement for an actual cart/table/stand for any of the items listed in Attachment B of the SOW.
SOW, Attachment C, 7.2.11 The Statement of Work document contains Attachment C – Familiarization Checklist. Within this checklist, requirement 7.2.11 states: “cutting steel using the cutting table”. Based on the minimum & maximum laser wattages outlined in Attachment B, 1.2.2 & 1.2.3, cutting through steel may not be possible. Is cutting through steel a requirement of the laser, and if so, what type of steel, and what thickness is required?
Cutting through steel is not a requirement for the laser.
However, engraving steel is a requirement for the laser.
See Amendment 0002, which provides a revised SOW (dated XX Mar 2018, Version 2), and Attachment C (for requirement 7.2.11).
SOW, Attachment B, 1.2.15 The Statement of Work document contains Attachment B, which section
1.2.15 states “Two sets of replacements for consumable components of each of the filtering system(s)” Is 1.2.15 requesting (2) additional sets of replacement consumables, plus a set that will come with the filtering system (total of 3 filter kits) Or Is 1.2.15 requesting (1) additional set of replacement consumable, plus a set that will come with the filtering system?
(total of 2 filter kits)?
Paragraph 1.2.15 in Attachment B of the Statement of Work is requesting two (2) sets of replacements for consumable components of each of the filtering system(s). One (1) set shall come with the system. As a result, a total of three (3) filter kits are required for each.
SOW, Attachment B, 1.4.1 The Statement of Work document contains Attachment B, which section
1.4.1. states “Able to support MIL‐STD‐130N Change 1 section 5.2.7.2.1 acceptance criteria for IUID marking (both high contrast black/white label marking and low contrast direct part marking). Will the requirement for verification of low contrast direct part marking be applicable to only flat surfaces that have been direct marked (like a metal tag that has been laser etched), or will it be a requirement for the ability to verifier direct part marks on any surface type or oddly shaped part with three dimensional shapes. Example: the verifier must be capable of verification of a direct part mark on a curved surface of a pipe.
The requirement for verification of low contrast direct part marking is applicable to only flat surfaces.
SOW, Attachment C, 10 The Statement of Work document contains Attachment C – Familiarization Checklist, and section 10 of this document states “production and application of a USMC IUID "Gold Standard" data plate to the IMC (Attachment F ‐ Marine Corps ID Plate Gold Standard)” Will these data plates or thermal labels for testing need to be provided by the solicitor, or will the USMC already have these plates/labels on hand at the location for testing?
The USMC will have the data plates on‐hand at the location for testing, as specified in Section 3 of Attachment D.
See Amendment 0002, which provides a revised SOW (dated XX Mar 2018, Version 2), and Attachment D (for 3b, 3g and 3i).
RFQ, General We would like to request an extension. Can you provide us with an extension? The solicitation closing date has been extended. See Amendment 0002.
