Current billet does not meet the vision of MAWTS-1 simulation

MAWTS-1 Future Simulation Future BLUF: MAWTS-1 simulation supports two WTI courses per year, two, four-month “fleet support” periods for unit exercises and personnel qualifications, test and experimentation of joint and Marine Corps simulation system interoperability, and MAGTFTC-sponsored exercises and initiatives such as LSE Same simulation systems used Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS) Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE) Supporting Arms Virtual Trainer (SAVT) Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT) Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG) Virtual Battlespace 3 (VBS3)

Categorized Sims (Staff Training, Combined Arms, Small Unit Tactics, Task Trainers)

Projected Simulation Events

WTI

Enduring ground SOM Friendly and enemy SOM runs in the background from one end of WTI to the other Created/executed on JCATS (MTWS if required) More LVC Overlay live environment with constructive friendly and enemy aviation, ground, naval, etc., assets Creates more dynamic learning environment Connect MAWTS-1, Marine Corps, and joint simulators Create a robust simulation environment which capitalizes on the strengths of each system

Requirements MAWTS-1 modeling and simulation Site Lead Coordinates and schedules ALL simulation events Represents MAWTS-1 at planning conferences Personnel and equipment surge requests Identifies/maintains simulation requirements 5-10 year outlook Conducts scenario design IAW MAWTS-1 training objectives Supports MAWTS-1 simulation training curriculum development Develops after-action report post MAWTS-1 simulation activity

MAWTS-1 modeling and simulation Analyst Setup and operation of simulation architecture During WTI or fleet support periods Build MAWTS-1 simulation scenarios Serve as an instructor for all MAWTS-1 simulators Coordinate with site lead for use of surge analysts Supervise response cell in the conduct of simulation execution Conduct event analysis and recommend improvement of MAWTS-1 simulation scenarios Capture simulation events and provide debrief capability for training audience

MAWTS-1 modeling and simulation Network Engineer Maintain all MAWTS-1 simulation equipment Maintain software/hardware updates Maintain IA compliancy Coordinate with appropriate vendors for updates required for simulation system interoperability Coordinate simulation systems warranty issues Maintain databases of simulation events Maintain MAWTS-1 ATO for all simulation systems image1.gif image2.png image3.png
