3/8/2016

Mission MAGTFTC - The MAGTFTC/MCAGCC mission is to conduct relevant live-fire combined arms training, urban operations, and Joint/Coalition level integration training that promotes operational forces readiness as well as to provide the facilities, services, and support responsive to the needs of resident organizations, Marines, Sailors, and their families today and tomorrow.

Battle Simulation Center (BSC) - Provide simulation support to all of the elements of MAGTF Training Command (MAGTFTC) as well as the tenant units of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC).

3/8/2016

Mission BSC Overview - The simulation staff provides training for any size unit from individual to regiment, for any warfighting discipline from infantry to logistics, and from all parts of the combat spectrum from full scale war to establishing local governance. The command seeks to integrate ‘program of record’ simulation systems into each unit’s training pipeline in order to better prepare units to get the most out of the premier live training venues available within MAGTFTC. Exercise every major simulation in the Marine Corps inventory and stand at the forefront of innovation to bring the best technology to Marines training for armed combat.

Long term Vision - MAGTFTC simulations should seamlessly and flexibly integrate low and high resolution simulation with live inputs on a single COP across functional domains and distributed training venues in order to train Marines through the MAGTFTP or at home station aboard MCAGCC.

MTWS Exercise Design & Execution

Combined Arms Staff Trainer (CAST) CAST is an effective operational Battle Simulator that provides Regimental and Battalion commanders, staffs, and fire support agencies an integrated environment to enhance combined arms planning and execution.

CAST staff supports and facilitates the use of an operational simulator (CACCTUS) for the training of key members of the Exercise Force Staff in command, control, maneuver and fire support coordination.

The CAST enables the Exercise Force to practice SOPs and TTPs, and to validate and refine their scheme of maneuver and fire support plan prior to conducting a Live Fire Integrated Training Exercise, or a Home station field exercise, live fire or operation.

Supporting Concurrent Simulation Exercises 3/8/2016 Level of effort per exercise Where do we want to stop training? i.e. level of CTR support?

Amount of exercises a year

MTWS events (one large and several small); CACCTUS – previous 10; current 5; DVTE – multiple events (primarily VBS2 (UAS)) Can we truly support concurrent simulation exercises with a limited simulation staff? Can they be the same people? What does single threaded mean in contract terms?
