About this file

This document includes a scope of work for the remanufacture of a 6.5L diesel engine and a related federal contract opportunity. The scope of work provides specifications for the required components and configuration of a 6.5L diesel engine used in HMMWV vehicles. It lists over 40 components that must be included with the remanufactured engine and indicates mandatory replacement parts. The related federal contract opportunity is a special notice from the Logistics Command seeking an integrator to develop and manage the remanufacture, overhaul, or repair of over 900 different secondary repairable items, including engines, transmissions, and electronics. The opportunity aims to utilize commercial repair activities to standardize the enterprise-wide process for outsourcing maintenance of secondary repairable components in order to increase availability and reliability as a complement to existing depot maintenance capabilities.
