QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Solicitation Section Comment/Question Government Response

8/18?
Yes, the solicitation has been extended to 18 August 2023.
PWS/item 5 Is the period of performance 90 days from award or 15-SEP-2023 to
31-MAR-2024 as shown in Delivery
Information
It is 90 Days from the award date as identified in the PWS. The Delivery information has been changed to 90 days after contract (ADC).
Performance Works
Statement 2. A.
How are the twenty-two existing “Type B” graphic stand-offs attached to the partitions?
The graphics are constructed of digital prints, wrapped around sign blank, and double-stuck to a 1/2”
MDF substrate with VHB tape. The
MDF has been screwed into the wall with drywall screws- so to remove these one would pry up the sign blank and then un-screw the MDF from the partitions.
Drawing iX11-01 Are there any floor coverings that are included in the exhibit fabricator’s scope of work?
No. The vendor should be able to use the existing flooring.
Is low iron and / or anti-reflective glass required for the artifact cases?
Yes, the museum requires low iron & anti-reflective glass.
Drawing 2/iX11-04 and 1/iX11-05
Is Artifact Case 1107 (which is being removed) to be saved by the client or discarded to onsite trash receptacle provided by client?
The NMMC will receive the case once it is removed from the wall.
Drawing iX11-05 Does raised platform remain in current location, only electrical moved? Is this power fed from above, run through the wall and out to the platform or fed from a box in the floor structure?
The raised platform is to remain in its current location. The power to the platform is run through conduit, underneath the platform, and back into the wall behind the chalkboard.
General - Electrical Will the relocated electrical / existing power be adequate for the new requirements? If not, where would power be fed / pulled from? Will any additional quad receptacles be required?
The vendor will be asked to determine the electrical requirements, based on the system that is currently in place. The NNMC does not have as-builts for the circuits that supply this section of the museum. The new load is not terribly different from the existing load- so it does not seem that a new branch will be required-however, it will be up to the vendor to do the math, and ultimately add a new branch if necessary. New quad boxes will be required at the site of the two new artifact display cases, in order to energize the case lighting. The old quad boxes for the wall lighting and the blackboard projector can simply be re-located and reused.

A Security Camera and Fire Strobe is shown in the drawings. Do these devices or any other FA devices need to be moved.
Both the security camera and the fire strobe will be removed by the
NMMC for the installation of the wall murals. The NMMC will then re-install the hardware.
Drawings 1/iX11-05 and 1/iX11-07
Will all the existing lights need to be removed from the existing locations? What is the quantity and location of the light fixtures on the new partitions?
Not all of the lights in the area need removal- only those on the partition that is being relocated.
There are nine support arms that need moving, and fifteen light fixtures.
Drawing 1 & 2/iX11-
08 and Attachment C
Graphic GR-11523 in drawings, not in schedule, please advise.
This is a numbering error that will be corrected on the next drawing release.
The drawing schedule shows GR-
11519 through 11522- whereas the drawing shows numbers GR-11520 though 11523. The Graphic schedule is correct, not the drawing.
Drawing 1 & 2/iX11-
08 and Attachment C
Graphic GR-11519 in schedule, not in drawings, please advise.
See above. The drawing schedule is correct and the drawing will be updated.
Drawings iX11-10 and iX11-12
Is the exhibit fabricator responsible for supplying the desiccant?
Yes, the fabricator will be required to supply desiccant conditions to 50%
RH.
Drawing iX11-02 and
Attachment C
Do the graphics as described mount onto a painted panel or get mounted directly on the partition?
The graphic stand-offs (“type B”) will need to be affixed to a painted
½” MDF panel.
