Graphics Graphics are identified as “GR” series numbers. See the Graphic Schedule for quantities and production methods. The Government will provide electronic production files to the Exhibit Fabricator in a PC based format and are considered to be ready for production. The Exhibit Fabricator may need to modify the files to be compatible with their production equipment. This is acceptable given that the modifications do not alter the finished appearance of the graphic.
The Exhibit Fabricator will produce color pallets for approval by NMMC for all colors used. Pallets will be adjusted and re-submitted for those that fail to match the colors specified.
The Exhibit Fabricator shall transport and install all graphics to the work site. All materials and systems are to be installed in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and NMMC approved submittals. Install materials and systems in proper relation with adjacent exhibits and with uniform appearance. All cleat-mounted digital output is to be placed in the proper position as designated on the composite layouts in the design drawings.
At Closeout the Exhibit Fabricator shall walk NMMC through the finished spaces for buy-off of graphics. Once approved, the graphic installation will be complete and the Exhibit Fabricator shall turn over all electronic production files to NMMC.
Samples The Exhibit Fabricator will produce samples for approval by NMMC. These will confirm the intended materials match the materials as called-out in the design drawings. All approved samples will be used by NMMC as a benchmark for comparison and approval of finished elements. The Exhibit Fabricator is expected to produce display elements to the level of quality and finish shown in the sample.
Any elements failing to meet this requirement will be rejected.
Sample types and requirements:
1. Paint Sample-Shall be 4” X 4” square of ½”thick medium density fiberboard (MDF). Sample to be coated with the specified color and dense enough to demonstrate the color and finish portrayed.
2. Floor Treatments-Shall be no less that a 12” x 12” square of commercially available products.
3. Custom Floor Treatments -Shall be no less than an 18” x 18” square of custom fabricated covering. This shall be a cementations coating with integral coloring and applied stains, textured to represent a specific terrain or natural material.
4. Natural Finishes-Typically known to the themed entertainment industry as rockwork, this shall be no less than a 24” x 24” square of scenic treatment designed to simulate a natural material such as rock, wood or dirt or manmade finishes such as canvass or welded and riveted metal plating. The sample shall be made of the same materials that will be used in the final exhibit.
5. Artificial Foliage-Shall be no less than 12” long for tree trunks, branches, and tall grasses.
6. Metals-Shall be a minimum of 4” X 4” square coated as specified.
7. Finish Materials in Sheet Form-Examples are acrylics, glazing, high-pressure laminates (HPL), and wood to be used in the exhibits as final finishes. Samples shall be a minimum of 6” X 6” square.
8. Color palettes for direct print inks on final materials. Shall be at least 4” X 4” and produced on respective final materials no smaller than 12” square.
9. Color palettes for photographic digital output. Assume a maximum of 30 colors. Each individual color samples shall be at least a 2” square and produced on respective final materials no smaller than a 12” square.
10. Color palette for eight (8) color, photo mural. Assume a maximum of 30 colors. Each individual color sample shall be at least 2” square and produced on respective final materials no smaller than 12” square.

Indicate catalog numbers, sizes, colors, options, and other information pertaining to the products furnished which would be required when ordering replacements.
For equipment assemblies, provide data for each separate item of equipment furnished as part of the assembly.
Custom Written Data For data not in manufacturer's standard literature, the Exhibit Fabricator shall provide text, drawings, and schematics specifically applicable to installed systems at contract completion. Include step-by-step descriptions of operating procedures; identification of individual components and their functions;
descriptions of how system components relate to one another and operate together to accomplish a common process or function; and sequence of operation for system control circuits. For seasonally operated systems, provide start-up and shutdown instructions.
Floor Coverings Commercially available floor coverings are specified in the design drawings and given a unique identification number; the Exhibit Fabricator will use this number for tracking and providing samples to NMMC.
All commercial products shall be installed per the manufacturer's specifications but also meet the artistic intent of the design. This includes preparing the surface and installation of the product. The products shall be laid in the pattern specified by the design drawings. If no pattern is specified, the Exhibit Fabricator shall discuss the intended lay out with NMMC for approval.
Once completed, it shall be the responsibility of the Exhibit Fabricator to protect the floor treatments from damage during installation with plastic sheeting and Masonite. The Exhibit Fabricator shall remove and dispose of these materials at the time of project completion.
