The delineators feature yellow-and-red or white-and-red reflective sheeting compliant with ASTM D4956, Type IX specifications, applied to half-cylindrical shapes with 3D raised reflectors. Installation occurs at heights between 22 and 28 inches on barriers and requires no special tools, with installation rates of approximately 200 feet per hour. The system accommodates versatile mounting on metal guardrails, concrete walls, and plastic barriers, with installation drawings provided for guardrail and concrete barrier applications. The product operates effectively across a temperature range of -40°F to 160°F.
The Luciol Systems product is marketed as a bi-directional delineation solution with distinctive safety features, including directional color coding where white-and-red is installed on the right side of roads and yellow-and-red on the left side, with red coloring on back sides to warn against wrong-way travel. The manufacturer documents effectiveness in reducing run-off-road accidents and crash frequency through before-and-after site data. Common applications include high-crash highway curves, transitions, ramps, and work zones, as well as tunnel delineation. The product carries a 10-year limited warranty.
