About this file
This is a Location Specification Sheet (LSS) and Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Environmental Services Section for wetland mitigation site tree and shrub planting services. The project is located at the US-31/Jacks Fish Farm Wetland Mitigation Site in Robinson Township, Ottawa County, in the Grand Region. The contract requires installation of 500 tree and shrub species in any combination from the specified list, which includes Acer saccharinum, Platanus occidentalis, Quercus bicolor, Quercus macrocarpa, and Quercus palustris. The contractor must provide pricing for material costs, site preparation, labor, equipment, layout, tree guards, and establishment period including plant replacements. The contract is estimated to begin September 1, 2021, and end November 15, 2022. The procurement contact is ReChelle Benson at the MDOT Contract Services Division, Purchasing Unit, and the program manager is Jeremie Wilson.
Pricing proposals must include individual costs for each tree and shrub species, a lump sum for installation of all 500 species, and unit costs for wetland watering and wetland cultivation activities. The contractor must submit the pricing schedule in the modifiable format provided and may submit an additional non-modifiable version; failure to complete the pricing schedule as requested may result in proposal disqualification. Contractors are encouraged to offer quick payment terms with specified discount percentages for early payment. All costs must be inclusive of materials, labor, and equipment necessary for successful completion. The contractor certifies that pricing is arrived at independently without consultation or agreement with other contractors and is responsible for any property damage during performance, with required repairs at the contractor's expense.
