About this file

This document is a Location Specification Sheet (LSS) for a Large Carcass Removal & Disposal Services contract issued by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the Grand Region - Grand Rapids Transportation Service Center (TSC), specifically covering Allegan County routes including US-131, I-196, and US-31. The contract is a 5-year agreement running from June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2025, with two additional 1-year renewal options. The service requires one scheduled patrol per week throughout the year, with the option of two additional full patrols during specific months (May, June, October, and November), focusing on large carcass removal and disposal along designated highway routes.

The pricing structure includes unit costs for routine patrols, optional patrols, carcass removal, and emergency mobilization, with MDOT noting that listed quantities are estimates and the state is not obligated to purchase specific quantities. The contract allows for emergency mobilization at the discretion of the MDOT Program Manager, with a maximum of two paid hours for travel to and from job sites. Contractors are required to provide a detailed equipment list, specifying make, model, engine type, equipment age, and ownership status (owned, leased, or rented), with the understanding that equipment failure will not be an acceptable reason for deviating from the contract's performance schedule.
