About this file
This is a utility locates reference document prepared for the City of Beaverton, Oregon in connection with the SW Juniper Terrace Waterline Improvements project. The document provides essential contact information and regulatory requirements for contractors performing underground utility locating and protection work during the waterline replacement initiative, which involves approximately 3,500 feet of aging 8-, 6-, and 4-inch water mains, residential service lines, and hydrants throughout the Juniper Terrace neighborhood.
Contractors must comply with Oregon Revised Statutes 757.541 to 757.571 and Oregon Administrative Rules 952-001-0010 through 952-001-0090 when locating and protecting underground utilities. A 48-hour notice is required prior to excavation through the One Call System at (503) 246-6699, which serves multiple utility providers including Frontier Communications, Northwest Natural Gas, Qwest, U.S. Sprint, Tualatin Valley Water, City of Beaverton, Portland General Electric, Clean Water Services, and cable television providers. Emergency repair contact numbers are provided for each utility. Contractors must maintain the project area free of debris upon completion, obtain express approval from the City Traffic Engineer before closing any streets, and notify Beaverton School District Transportation at (503) 649-0361 at least 24 hours in advance of any street closures. The Oregon Utility Notification Center may be reached at (503) 232-1987 for copies of applicable utility notification rules.
