About this file

The Local Vendor Preference Form is a document issued by the City of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, designed to provide local businesses a competitive advantage in municipal bidding processes. The form allows qualifying local businesses located within North Myrtle Beach city limits to match the lowest bid from a non-local business if their bid is within 5% of that price. To qualify, a vendor must have a physical business address within the city limits, have been operating at that location for at least 12 months, and provide supporting documentation such as a North Myrtle Beach business license and monthly water bills.

The form includes provisions that require vendors to submit the completed document with their sealed bid and acknowledge under penalty of perjury that all submitted information is accurate. Businesses found to intentionally submit false information to qualify for local preference will be prohibited from bidding on City of North Myrtle Beach products and services for one year. An eligible business must maintain its local status throughout the contract term, and failure to do so or to remain current on fees and taxes owed to the city can result in contract termination. The document is dated December 2019 and includes spaces for notarization, business details, and authorized signatures.
