About this file

The document is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Form from the City of Fort Myers, Florida, specifically designed to support the city's goal of achieving 15% MBE participation in contract opportunities. The form is part of the documentation process for the Electrical Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS) project, which seeks a qualified consultant/contractor to fully fund, design, install, operate, maintain, market, and potentially remove electric vehicle charging stations on publicly owned property. The form requires detailed documentation of good faith efforts by prime contractors or subcontractors to engage minority-owned businesses, including records of transmittal letters, communication attempts, quotation reviews, and explanations for non-utilization of MBE firms.

The form serves as a structured mechanism for contractors to demonstrate their commitment to the city's MBE objectives, with multiple steps requiring specific documentation such as contact methods, communication records, and reasons for not utilizing minority businesses. While the form itself does not specify exact pricing or funding sources, it is part of the procurement process for the EVCS project, which aims to have a comprehensive solution including equipment, software, networking, accessories, warranties, and installation services. The contractor will be responsible for identifying suitable city-owned locations, ensuring ADA compliance, providing parking signage, and developing a business model that outlines pricing, billing practices, and revenue distribution for the electric vehicle charging stations.
