1. What is the make and manufacturer of the office furniture?
Response: The make/model of the office furniture is Action Office 2 by Herman Miller and the furniture is still under warranty.
2. Ref section 1.2 of the SOW: Are there electric specifications for the branch power lines?
Response: Please clarify what is mean by branch power lines?
3. Does this portion of the solicitation include purchasing of the branch power units?
Response: Same as response #2.
4. What are the exact dates of performance for the project?
Response: The exact date of performance is 15 Jul 13.
5. In paragraph 8 of the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation, there is mention of an attached Wage Determination, but no Wage Determination was attached. Can you provide this attachment?
Response: Wage Determination No: 1996-0260 has been included as Attachment G.
6. Will we be responsible for removing existing cabling from the furniture during teardown?
Response: Contractor responsible for removing cabling from furniture during teardown.
7. Will we be responsible for performing disconnects of electrical in-feeds during teardown?
Response: Contractor responsible for disconnecting electrical in-feeds during teardown.
8. Since the existing drawings are not accurate to what is currently in Buildings 3534, 3536 & 3538, will we be permitted to do a detailed inventory, field verification of Building 1650 and drawings after the award?
Response: Yes, inventory of furniture and workstations will be performed after award of the contract.
9. Will an AutoCAD file be provided for Building 1650 to aid us in our reconfiguration layouts?
Response: An AutoCAD file for Building 1650 has been included as Attachment H.
10. Can you advise which workstation will be the one to remain in Building 3538?
Response: The workstation will be marked on the map.
11. There are 6 additional workstations in Building 3536. Could you please increase the quantity on the Statement of Work?
Response: The Statement of Work will be amended to include the six (6) additional workstations in Building 3536.
12. Several workstations in Building 3538 have been gutted in part or in whole. This will impact the number of parts available for reconfiguration. After award we will complete a detailed inventory and reconfiguration plans. We will make every effort to provide the number of stations you have asked for in Building 1650, but we may be short some.
Response: Yes, inventory of furniture and workstations will be performed after award of the contract. Due to missing part from workstations in Building 3538 and space configuration in Building 1650 all existing workstation may not be utilized in Building 1650.
13. There are some miscellaneous wood laterals and end tables in Building 3538. Will you need us to move those to Building 1650?
Response: Yes, the miscellaneous wood laterals and end tables in Building 3538 will need to be inventoried and move to Building 1650.
14. Will the pony walls in the central room of Building 1650 be torn down or remain in place? If they remain, we will need to re-design the stations in that central area and you will probably lose some stations.
Response: Yes, the pony walls in the central room of Building 1650 will remain in place with no modifications.
15. There is a low soffit that runs along part of the left and right rooms in Building 1650. The height of this soffit will prevent us from locating any of your 80”H panels under it due to sprinkler codes. This will require us to re-design the concept layout. We will need to locate low-paneled stations under the soffit and the taller panels in the areas with higher ceilings.
Response: Yes, the design will be based on existing site conditions.
16. How will power be brought over to the workstations in the left and right vaulted ceiling areas of Building 1650 and will the government provide this? The ceiling is too tall for most power poles.
Response: This service will be provided by PSA and 802 CES. Once a proposal is received from the contractor regarding layout of the modular furniture the Government (PSA & 802 CES) will determine the electrical connection locations.
17. Will it be ok to block most of the entrances to the conference area in the left room of Building 1650? The concept layout currently shows all but 1 entrance blocked.
Response: No, it is okay to block the south side of the conference area. Leave the east side of the conference area clear.
18. Who is responsible for bringing the electrical J-Boxes to the correct locations for the furniture in Bldg. 1650 so that our electrician can connect the furniture infeeds?
Response: See response to Question 16.
19. Please confirm that if it is necessary to cut any data line in the existing buildings at Ft. Sam Houston in order to remove the furniture that we are able to do that.
Response: Yes, all existing data line will be disconnected from modular furniture.
20. Confirm that we are to include the moving and placing of the misc. furniture items identified in the site visit such as chairs, file cabinets, etc.
Response: Yes, see response to Question 13
21. Confirm we are to add 6 additional stations to the total station count to be moved.
Response: Yes, see response to Question 11.
22. Who is responsible for disposal of any excess furniture pieces to include the 52 ft of V-wall? Are these items being turned in to DRMO?
Response: Contractor responsible for any excess furniture pieces disposal upon completion of the project.
23. Will a formal inventory of loose furniture be performed before or after award of the contract?
Response: Formal inventory of loose furniture and workstations will be performed after award of the contract.
