About this file
This document is an attachment (Attachment A) from the City of Tucson and Tucson Water, detailing specifications for larger-volume sodium-hypochlorite (NaOCl) storage buildings. The City of Tucson seeks to establish a contract with a supplier to provide 7'W x 7'L storage buildings designed specifically for safely housing and managing larger chemical containers. The buildings must meet precise dimensional requirements, including a maximum height of 84", a foundation and structure width of 78" x 78", and a door width of 48" with a maximum height of 74".
The storage buildings must be constructed from fiberglass or wood siding capable of withstanding continuous exposure to sodium hypochlorite and direct sunlight. Specific design requirements include white or light-colored exterior, metal or fiberglass roof with a slope not exceeding 4/12 pitch, two 16" x 8" vents on side walls, linear roof ridge ventilation, and an open floor design of 49 sq ft to accommodate potential product overflow. Additional specifications mandate that all materials must withstand exposure to corrosive airborne materials for a minimum of 5 years, with electrical conduit anchored externally and a 2" circular hole for pump cord accommodation. No insulation is required by the vendor.
