About this file
This document is a technical specification for storage buildings, issued by the City of Tucson Water Department in Arizona, detailing requirements for storage buildings designed to house larger-volume sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) chemical crocks. The City intends to establish a contract with a supplier to provide standardized storage buildings that measure 78" x 78" with a maximum height of 8'6", featuring specific design parameters such as fiberglass or wood siding, metal or fiberglass roofing with a slope not exceeding 4/12 pitch, and a surface area not surpassing 60 square feet.
The storage buildings must include critical functional specifications, including two 16" x 8" wall vents, linear roof ridge ventilation, a 49 square foot open floor design, a 4' wide by 6' high door with optional side hinging, and provisions for electrical conduit and pump cord accommodation. Materials must be capable of withstanding continuous exposure to NaOCl and direct sunlight for a minimum of 5 years, with color options limited to white or light tones. The buildings will be deployed at well sites, boosters, and reservoirs where standard storage solutions are insufficient, with the primary goal of enabling Tucson Water staff to safely and comfortably manage larger chemical containers.
