About this file

This is a Labor and Material Payment Bond template issued by the City of Jackson, Michigan, for use on construction contracts. The bond is required in compliance with Michigan Public Act No. 213 of 1963, as amended, and applies to the roof and gutter replacement project at 827 Bush Street, which includes tree trimming for roof clearances. The bond serves as a guarantee that the Principal (contractor) will pay all subcontractors, laborers, and material suppliers for work and materials provided in connection with the contract. The bond amount, contract date, and specific project details are to be completed at execution. The bond remains in full force regardless of any changes, alterations, modifications, or extensions to the underlying contract terms, with notice to the surety waived for such modifications.

The bond requires execution by authorized officers of both the Principal and Surety, with the Surety's representative executing as attorney-in-fact and attaching a power of attorney. The City of Jackson Community Development Department has solicited competitive sealed bids for this homeowner assistance project, requiring all bidders to maintain Sam.gov registration, possess proper licensing, and obtain required permits prior to bid submission. Awards are made to the qualified lowest bidder. The bond is a standard procurement requirement ensuring financial protection for all parties providing labor and materials on the project.
