About this file

This draft request for proposal from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Langley Research Center solicits proposals for multiple indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts to provide inflatable aerodynamic decelerators. The contracts have an estimated 10-year period of performance and will include both cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price task orders. The work is grouped into three technical tracks: inflatable structures design, fabrication and testing (unrestricted); flexible thermal protection systems design, fabrication and testing (small business set-aside); and gas generator inflation system design, manufacturing and testing (small business set-aside). The agency anticipates awarding up to three contracts for the first track, two each for the second and third tracks, reserving the right to award up to six for the third track. Offerors may propose to one or more tracks. Key dates include the final RFP release on January 14, 2022 and contract awards by September 14, 2022. The agency requests comments on the draft RFP by November 22, 2021.
