This document is a pricing proposal from KFT Fire Trainer, LLC for the Mississippi Fire Academy, specifically addressing a structural fire training mock-up upgrade project located in Jackson, MS. The proposal covers a comprehensive upgrade to the existing burn building, including demolition and removal of current mock-ups and control cabinets, designing and installing new mock-ups with integrated flashovers, new thermal lining, non-fire props like doors and a standpipe system, and enhanced safety and control systems. The project includes a complete gas-fueled live fire training system with PLC computer controls, wireless control pendants, smoke generation systems, ventilation upgrades, and multiple fire props such as stove scenarios, bed configurations, and hallway flashovers. KFT will provide detailed design drawings for MSFA leadership approval and offer a bypass feature allowing the academy to modify standard control settings.
The total training system is priced at $1,329,575, with the quote valid through August 31, 2025. The proposal includes extensive safety features and compliance with multiple NFPA standards, a certification by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, and a safety analysis report. Subject: Pricing for Structural Fire Training Mock-up Upgrades
KFT Fire Trainer, LLC (KFT) is pleased to provide this pricing proposal for the Mississippi Fire Academy burn building upgrade. The pricing for our Scope of Work includes demolition and removal of the existing mock-ups and control cabinets, designing, fabricating, and installing new mock-ups with integrated flashovers where specified and all associated safety and control systems needed to operate the trainers. During the design phase, KFT will provide detailed drawings for the fire and non-fire training props, as well as installation details to the MSFA leadership for approval prior to fabricating training props. Additionally, KFT will install new thermal lining, as required and agreed upon with the MSFA leadership, where needed to provide thermal protection to the burn building, as well as new non-fire props including non-fire rated doors, forcible entry doors and a standpipe system.
Per the request of the Mississippi Fire Academy Leadership Team, a bypass feature will be provided which allows the training cadre to select changes to the standard KFT provided controls. Specifically, the academy would like to raise the high temperature emergency stop setting from the current 500 degrees Fahrenheit to the previous standard of 700 degrees. Additionally, the academy would like to enable all fire controls from the central control room rather than a local wireless pendant with each fire training instructor. KFT will provide a training system that is compliant with the 2019 edition of NFPA 1402, if the Academy leadership selects to raise the temperature setting to 700 degrees or control all fires from the central control room vs a pendant that is local to the individual burn room, this will be accomplished with either a password protected or physical key switch to change the setting above.
Additionally, the switch will require acknowledging that the NFPA 1402 standards are being bypassed.
Please note that prices indicated in this document are subject to change based on cost fluctuations of materials and equipment caused by unplanned inflation or imposition of tariffs. Final pricing will be determined by prevailing costs based on a confirmed order date.
