About this file

This document provides details for a federal construction contract opportunity with the Department of Agriculture Forest Service. The solicitation involves replacing an existing 200 foot long two lane bridge over Bald River Falls with a new 170 foot two lane structure, including clearing, grubbing, bridge rail, guardrail, masonry and paving work. It also requires reconditioning activities on NFSR 35 such as clearing, excavation, milling, subgrade stabilization, culvert cleaning and replacement, and fill slope armoring before paving the 0.8 mile road. The contractor will maintain the detour route consisting of NFSRs 216, 217 and 35 throughout construction, which includes weekly and post-storm event driving, up to four gradings, two mowings, culvert cleaning as needed, tree removal and snow plowing on an as-needed basis. The magnitude of construction is estimated between $5 million to $10 million.
