About this file
This letter from the Department of Housing and Urban Development notifies residents of the Burchwood Apartments that the property does not meet minimum housing standards and outlines relocation assistance that will be provided. HUD will help residents move to more suitable housing by May 2005 and provide advisory services, payment for reasonable moving expenses, opportunities to relocate to HUD-owned properties if available, assistance through Section 8 voucher programs if eligible, and any other available federal, state, or local assistance. Residents will receive a call within the next few days to confirm receipt of the letter and answer questions about the relocation process.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from HUD seeking contractor support to perform property management and tenant relocation services for its multifamily and healthcare properties portfolio. The portfolio includes market rate, affordable, and Section 8 assisted housing serving elderly, disabled, and non-disabled families, as well as specialized facilities, mobile home parks, group homes, and vacant land. The contractor will assist with relocation efforts like those outlined in the tenant notification letter.
