The new lift station will be sized to accommodate current sanitary loads and future expansion, incorporating a wet well, dry well, chopper pumps (to handle debris), force main connections, and a new control system for monitoring flow and equipment status. The existing lift station, which has required pump replacements every 1-2 years due to unanticipated growth and has shown signs of deterioration including standing water in the dry well and corroded fittings, will be demolished following installation of the new system.

This is a total small business set-aside solicitation under Product Service Code Y1ND (Construction of Sewage and Waste Facilities) and NAICS Code 237110. The project location is 1319 Soldier Creek Road, Rosebud, SD 57570, in Todd County. STATEMENT OF WORK
Rosebud New Hospital Lift Station Rosebud Service Unit Rosebud, SD
1. Project Description A. Title:
B. Location: This project is at the Rosebud Hospital, in Rosebud, SD.
C. Period of Performance: 240 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.
D. Description: This project will include the full removal and replacement of the lift station for the Rosebud complex. The existing lift station provides wastewater service to the hospital quarters units, and several tribal program buildings. Once installation is complete the new lift station will take the full sanitary load for the area currently being serviced by the existing lift station and be sized to handle expansion in the future. Then the existing lift station consisting of the wet well, dry well, pumps and piping will be demolished. The new lift station will consist of a wet well, a dry well, installation of chopper pumps, and force main connection. This project will also include a new control system to allow the facility to monitor flow into the lift station and the status of the equipment.
E. Background: The Rosebud Comprehensive Health Care Facility needs to replace the existing sewer lift station due to deterioration and sizing limitations. The existing lift station provides wastewater service to the hospital, hospital quarters units, and several tribal program buildings. Currently the lift station pumps are replaced every other year due to excess wear and overuse. Additionally, the manholes upstream of the lift station have been observed to fill between 25-85% full, which indicates that the current system isn’t keeping up and that there is possible infiltration and inflow (I&I) occurring. A recent field visit showed that the existing dry well had standing water in it and the existing fittings and valves that connect to the force main showed signs of deterioration. The lift station project will incorporate the demolition of the existing wet well, dry well, piping, and pumps, along with the construction of a new lift station, installation of chopper pumps and connection to upstream manholes and gravity sewer.
